AIMS |
World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) is a high-quality, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The primary task of WJG is to rapidly publish high-quality original articles, reviews, editorials, and case reports in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. In order to promote healthy academic communication, the peer review process for WJG is transparent, during which the reviewer’s anonymous comments and the author’s responses to the comments will be published together with the article. WJG aims to improve diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive modalities and skills of clinicians and guide clinical practice in gastroenterology and hepatology. |

STEPS TO SUBMIT MANUSCRIPTS
Step 1: Create an author’s user account by registering your personal information in the Member Login System. A valid email address is required for contact with the editorial team regarding submission and review activities. If your email address has been registered before, please click the “Forgot my password” link to retrieve your password. Then, enter your username and password to gain access to our online manuscript submission system, the Express Submission and Peer Review System (ESPS).
Step 2: Select the journal to which you want to submit your manuscript.
Step 3: Submit full correspondence information for all authors.
Step 4: Answer all of the “Questions to the Corresponding Author” (Yes or No, see below). If a manuscript is submitted without all of these questions answered, it will be deleted from the system, without review, and you will be added to our blacklist.
Is this manuscript a duplicate submission?
Is there plagiarism in your manuscript?
Are there any fabricated or falsified data in your manuscript?
Does your manuscript have any data that has been published previously?
Does your manuscript contain contents stolen from other researchers' work?
Is there a debate over authorship?
Are there any conflicts of interest?
Is the ethics committee’s approval document provided?
Is the biostatistician’s review report provided?
Step 5: Select a time and reason for rapid publication; for example: online publishing, 24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, or ≥20 weeks.
Step 6: Submit the manuscript title.
Step 7: Select the article scope: Clinical Practice or Basic Science.
Step 8: Select the specialty type.
Step 9: Submit keywords. Abbreviated keywords should be avoided.
Step 10: Submit the abstract.
Step 11: Submit the cover letter. The 1-page cover letter should include a clear description of your study’s objective, strengths and weaknesses, and key finding. The cover letter will be read by the invited peer reviewers and is used as the main deciding factor as to whether or not they will engage in the peer review of your manuscript.
Step 12: Submit the ethics committee’s approval document. This document will be verified by the editorial office and assessed by the invited peer reviewers to decide whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.
Step 13: Submit the biostatistician’s review report, which will be assessed by the invited peer reviewers to decide whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.
Step 14: Non-native English-speaking authors must submit an English language editing certificate. To ensure that the peer reviewers can give a fair and objective assessment of the manuscript, non-native English-speaking authors must seek out and use the services of a professional editing service provider, either a professional English language editing company or a qualified colleague (with evidenced expertise and experience in English language editing of scientific and medical manuscripts). The manuscript will not be sent out for peer review until an English language editing certificate or a confirmation letter provided by the English language editing company or qualified colleague is submitted to BPG. If the certificate or confirmation letter is not received within 4 weeks, the manuscript will be deleted from the system.
Step 15: Submit the complete list of all publications of the corresponding author. This list will be verified by our science editors and peer reviewers to confirm that the corresponding author has not published similar paper(s).
Step 16: Select the article type.
Step 17: Submit the full manuscript, including text, figures, and tables. The file must be named using the manuscript title.
At this time, the submission process is completed.
If you have any problems, please contact us by help desk: http://www.wjgnet.com/esps/helpdesk.aspx or by telephone: 0086-10-8538-1892.
Thank you for your support and submission!
