About the journal
Insect Systematics and Diversity (ISD) publishes original research on systematics, evolution, and biodiversity of insects and related arthropods. The journal welcomes integrative studies incorporating comparative and developmental morphology, conservation, behavior, taxonomy, molecular phylogenetics, paleobiology, natural history, phylogeography, and articles that utilize novel technologies or data types or describe emerging methods of research. Two professors from the University of Illinois – Dr. Sydney A. Cameron and Dr. James B. Whitfield – serve as co-editors-in-chief.
ISD is online-only and subscription-based. As an online-only journal, ISD is able to publish papers in a variety of lengths, from short communications, to reviews of current topics, to revisions of up to 200 pages. ESA members are exempt from page charges when publishing in the journal. As the journal is online-only, all color figures are free to publish.
