About the journal
Focus and Scope
Madera y Bosques (Wood and Forests) is a scientific periodical which has the objective of serving as media for scientific and technological research related to forest products, forest management and conservation as well as forest ecology topics and related subjects. It publishes original scientific papers, topical articles, scientific notes or bibliographic reviews. It is a quarterly publication that appears in Spring, Summer and Fall. Ocassionally, special Winter Issues are published. Manuscripts are accepted in Spanish, English and sporadically in other languages. Madera y Bosques is an open acces journal wich has no Page Processing Charges and it is published by the Environment and Sustainability Department of the Instituto de Ecología, A.C. (Xalapa, Ver., México).
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts received for possible publication in Madera y Bosques will be reviewed by the editorial team in order to verify that it meets the requirements of the Authors Guide. Those which do not meet these criteria will be returned to the authors.
Madera y Bosques reviewing policy is double-blind review.
Manuscripts according with editorial guides, will be sent to two anonymous reviewers, at least, who will indicate if the manuscript is to be accepted for publication without changes, with minor changes, whether it must be restructured or if it is unsuitable for publication on the journal. If at least one of the reviewers considers that the manuscript has "No scientific contribution" or that is "Inferior to average", the manuscript publication will be declined. *
The reviewers are requested to send their opinion within three weeks after they receive the files for evaluation. When two of the evaluations coincide, the Editor will make a final decision in the spirit of these evaluations. If there were contradictory points of view, the editorial team will send the manuscript to another reviewer.
