Instructions to Authors

B-ENT publishes original basic science and clinical research papers, case reports, invited reviews/state of the art, papers presented at meetings of the Royal Belgian Society for ENT, Head and Neck Surgery and reports.

Manuscripts are received under condition that they are original contributions, are not simultaneously submitted elsewhere and have not been previously published.

Transfer of copyright to B-ENT is a prerequisite of publication and all authors must sign the transfer form.

Manuscripts should be written in English and are subject to international peer review (three referees at least). Revision may be required as a condition of acceptance.

These instructions apply to all submissions. Authors should follow the most recent instructions.

Reports presented at the Belgian ENT society are agreed upon by the administrative council, prior to submission under specific instructions.

Manuscripts

The entire work may be presented in any major word processing software, double spaced on DINA4 paper format, 3 cm margins, in Time New Roman 12 points. The main part of the text should not exceed 10 printed pages.

Electronic submission of manuscripts is encouraged and can be mailed to: manuscripts@b-ent.be.

  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Each of these elements should begin on a new page. All pages are to be numbered in the right upper corner starting with #1. A running title without author’s name should be put on top of every single page (left upper corner).

Case reports

Case reports can only be considered under the conditions of being really exceptional and containing clinical, diagnostic and/or therapeutic elements of highest importance and relevance.

This should be stated in an accompanying letter.

The number of references should not exceed 15. There should be at least 1 reference to a recent publication in B-ENT.

  4. the financial support or founding when applicable,
  5. the address for correspondence,
