Mina Razzak, PhD Chief Editor
Following her degree in biomedical science from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ, Mina received her PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Cambridge, UK, where she researched the synthesis of numerous polyketide natural products with anticancer properties. Following a postdoctoral research position at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas, USA, she returned to the UK to serve as an Assistant Editor for Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology and Nature Reviews Urology. She became an Associate Editor in 2013 and, following a locum role as Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Nephrology, Senior Editor in 2014. She is the launch editor of Nature Reviews Disease Primers. Mina primarily handles papers on oncology, urology, nephrology and respiratory medicine.
Liesbet Lieben, PhD Senior Editor
![](http://www.nature.com/uploads/ckeditor/pictures/1235/content_Lisbet-Lieben_smaller.jpg) Liesbet received her PhD in biomedical sciences from the KU Leuven, Belgium, where she worked with Geert Carmeliet on the endocrine control of mineral and bone homeostasis. She continued this line of research as a postdoctoral fellow in the same laboratory, before pursuing a second fellowship at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Cambridge, UK. She joined the Nature Reviews Disease Primers launch team in January 2015. Liesbet primarily handles papers on rheumatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and hepatology.
Louise Adams, PhD Associate Editor
![](http://www.nature.com/uploads/ckeditor/pictures/2789/content_Louise_Adams.jpg) Following the completion of her master’s in neuroscience at the University of Manchester, UK, Louise commenced her PhD at Queen Mary University of London, UK, where she researched adhesion molecules and the extracellular matrix in spinal cord injury. She joined the Nature Reviews Disease Primers team in March 2016. Louise primarily handles papers on neurology, psychiatry and sleep medicine.
Lucia Brunello, PhD Associate Editor
Lucia completed her PhD in Biosciences at the University of Padova, Italy, where she studied the mechanisms of calcium dysregulation in familial Alzheimer’s disease. She then spent five years as postdoctoral researcher at the Ohio State University, where she specialized in confocal live imaging of myocardial tissue, researching the role of calcium in cardiac arrhythmias. She joined the Nature Reviews Disease Primers team in July 2016. Lucia primarily handles papers on cardiology, infectious diseases and haematology.
