Time to acceptance (2016 average): 12 weeks.
The material innovations on surfaces, combined with understanding and manipulation of physics and chemistry of functional surfaces and coatings, have exploded in the past decade at an incredibly rapid pace.
Superhydrophobicity, superhydrophlicity, self-cleaning, self-healing, anti-fouling, anti-bacterial, etc., have become important fundamental topics of surface science research community driven by curiosity of physics, chemistry, and biology of interaction phenomenon at surfaces and their enormous potential in practical applications. Materials having controlled-functionality surfaces and coatings are important to the manufacturing of new products for environmental control, liquid manipulation, nanotechnological advances, biomedical engineering, pharmacy, biotechnology, and many others, and are part of the most promising technological innovations of the twenty-first century.
Awards: each year, the paper rated best by the Editor will be given the prestigious Surface Innovations Prize.
Instructions to Authors
Please read our ICE engineering journal Guidelines for Authors before you begin writing your paper. ICE Science Guidelines for Authors can be found here. When submitting to an ICE engineering journal (for ICE Science see below) please note:
- 1. References must be in Harvard (author, date) style. Click here for our referencing guidelines. The exception to this is the five ICE Science titles, which use Vancouver format.
- 2. Figures must be submitted separately and in high resolution. Line drawings should be submitted in .eps or .tiff format with a minimum resolution of 600dpi when viewed at 10cm. Click here for our figure guidelines
- 3. Permission must be obtained from the copyright holder to reuse any material that has been published elsewhere. Click here for our permission guidelines.
