References
Transplantation Reviews uses the Vancouver style references with numbers and text.
Text: Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given.
List: Number the references (numbers in square brackets) in the list in the order in which they appear in the text.
Examples:
- Reference to a journal publication:
- 1. Van der Geer J, Hanraads JAJ, Lupton RA. The art of writing a scientific article. J Sci Commun 2000;163:51-9.
- Reference to a book:
- 2. Strunk Jr W, White EB. The elements of style. 3rd ed. New York: Macmillan; 1979.
- Reference to a chapter in an edited book:
- 3. Mettam GR, Adams LB. How to prepare an electronic version of your article. In: Jones BS, Smith RZ, editors. Introduction to the electronic age. New York: E- Publishing Inc; 1999, p. 281-304.
Note shortened form for last page number. e.g., 51-9, and that for more than 6 authors the first 6 should be listed followed by 'et al.' For further details you are referred to "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals" (J Am Med Assoc 1997;277:927-34), see also http://openjournals.net/files/Ref/VANCOUVER%20Reference%20guide.pdf.
Tables and Figures
TABLES: Number all tables (Table 1, Table 2) in the order of their citation in the text and indicate within the text the preferred placement of the table. Include a title for each table (a brief phrase, preferably no longer than 10 to 15 words). All tables should be placed at the end of the manuscript file, each table on a separate page.
FIGURES: Number all figures (Fig 1, Fig 2) (graphs, charts, photographs, and illustrations) in the order of their citation in the text and indicate within the text the preferred placement of the figure. Legends should be included at the end of the manuscript. Legends should be sufficiently detailed to allow understanding without reference to the text.
Permission to Reprint
If any illustration or table has been previously published, acopy of the letter of PERMISSION to reprint from the copyrightholder must accompany the manuscript. The author is responsiblefor any fees that the copyright holder imposes to borrowpreviously published materials. The source of the illustration ortable should be included in the reference section of the manuscript. The legend should conclude with "Reprinted with permission"followed by the reference number (eg, "Reprinted withpermission.23").
Please be cautioned not to submit the same illustration ortable simultaneously to two publishers on the assumption thatone article will publish before the other and that the publisher ofthe first article will grant permission for reuse of the material.Publication of one article may be delayed unexpectedly, necessitatingwithdrawal of material from the other article.
Conflicts of Interest
When authors submit a manuscript, they are responsible for disclosing all financial and personal relationships that might bias their work. Authors must state explicitly whether potential conflicts do or do not exist. Authors should do so in a separate paragraph that follows the title page, providing additional detail, if necessary, in a cover letter that accompanies the manuscript.
