Papers dealing with ecological topics are especially welcome in association with experimental or physiological studies. All papers published in this journal are subject to peer review. Archiv für Hydrobiologie, now Fundamental and Applied Limnology has been published continuously since 1906. Four issues form one volume, that is three volumes of FAL scheduled to be published annually. Please note that the beginning of a volume may not coincide with the calendar year. Regular papers (of 20 printed pages max.) must describe original work, but from time to time review articles on selected topics are published. Short comments (letters) on current (most likely controversial) issues are invited to make the journal a forum of lively scientific discourse.
