About the journal
Rejuvenation Research publishes cutting-edge work on rejuvenation therapies in the laboratory and clinic, as well as the latest research relevant to what these novel therapeutic approaches must do at the molecular and cellular level in order to be truly effective.
Aubrey de Grey, at the helm of this multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal, seeks to understand and ultimately defy the mechanisms of aging. He was featured in a recent 60 Minutes segment titled "The Quest for Immortality"; in a cover story on de Grey, MIT's Technology Review said, "His tireless efforts...have put him among the most prominent proponents of antiaging science in the world. ... De Grey has become more than a man; he is a movement."
Dr. de Grey and his outstanding international editorial board have the opportunity to further explore and advance the science, and perhaps achieve the ultimate goal of slowing or reversing the process of aging.

Instructions to Authors
Rejuvenation Research is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed academic journal that covers all aspects of biology and biomedicine relevant to the combating, and ultimately the reversal, of age-related physiological and cognitive decline, in nonhuman species and eventually in humans. Rejuvenation Research has no page charges.
Only manuscripts that conform with guidelines contained herein will be considered for publication. All manuscripts are subject to peer review. Manuscripts are received with the explicit understanding that they are not under simultaneous consideration by any other publication and have not already been published. Submission of an article for publication implies the transfer of the copyright from the author to the Publisher upon acceptance. Accepted papers become the permanent property of Rejuvenation Research and may not be reproduced by any means, in whole or in part, without the written consent of the Publisher.
Publication Categories
Research Articles Original reports of basic research on aging and ways to combat it.
Clinical Articles Original clinical investigations in areas relevant to combating aging.
Theoretical Articles Original essays which explore theoretical aspects of aging with a clear view toward eventual biomedical implications.
Social Implications Original discussions of the sociopolitical, economic or ethical implications of extending the healthy and/or total human lifespan.
Point/Counterpoint Paired and opposing reviews of provocative issues in aging. Each author will be invited to write a short response to the opposing review. Reviews and responses will appear in the same issue.
Literature Reviews Reviews of a topical area of research relevant to combating aging, discussing the work of multiple research groups.
Meeting Reports Accounts of a representative sample of talks or poster presentations at a recent conference or symposium related to combating aging.
Correspondence Letters regarding articles published recently (in the two most recent issues) in Rejuvenation Research. Authors of such articles will be invited to respond to such letters in the same issue in which the letter is published.
Manuscript Submission and Copyright Agreement Form
The Copyright Agreement form (available from web site at http://www.liebertpub.com/media/content/transfer_of_copyright.pdf.) should be submitted once your paper has been accepted for publication. Manuscripts cannot be published without this form. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining signatures of coauthors. Authors not permitted to release copyright must still return the form signed under the statement of the reason for not releasing the copyright. Upon acceptance of your paper, please fax the Copyright Agreement form to 914-740-2108.
Manuscript Submission
All manuscript submissions must be e-mailed to the Editor-in-Chief (ag24@gen.cam.ac.uk) with the text attached as a Microsoft Word document and figures as TIFF files at 1200 dpi. Submit the text and figure legends as one file but do not include figures OR tables in the main file. Each figure and table should be submitted as a separate file. Confirmation of receipt should occur within 48 hours. Hard copy submission of manuscripts is not necessary.
Cover Letter
A cover letter should identify the communicating author (along with address, phone number, fax number, and E-mail address). Briefly identify the manuscript by title, the category of article for which it is submitted, information about any circumstance that might constitute prior publication, a description of any situation that might be perceived as a conflict of interest, and a list of any copyright constraints. Indicate if there is no prior publication, and if there is no conflict of interest. All studies involving human or animal subjects should have approval or stated exemption from the author¡¯s institutional review board or animal subject review committee. In research involving human subjects, informed consent must have been obtained in writing as well. Briefly describe the nature of such approval, exemption, or consent in the cover letter. Briefly specify the responsibility of each listed author or consultant in the research, preparation or writing.
Manuscript
Double space only (not 1.5 spacing) and format for printing on 8.5 X 11-inch white paper with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Font size should be no smaller than 12 pt. Number each page, beginning with the title page. The parts of the manuscript should appear in the following order: title page, abstract, main text, acknowledgements, references, tables, figure legends.
The maximum length for Literature Review papers is 6000 words (not including abstract, legends, and references); there should be no more than 150 references and six figures or tables. The maximum length for Correspondence is 1000 words; no more than 10 references and one figure or table. For all other categories the maximum length is 4000 words (not including abstract, legends and references), with no more than 70 references and four figures or tables.
Title Page Include the full title, authors¡¯ names, authors¡¯ full affiliation, information, the phrase ¡°word count¡± followed by the number of words in the main text (excluding abstract, figures, legend, and references), the phrase ¡°address for correspondence and reprints¡± followed by the full name, complete mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the communicating author, a list of between three and six keywords, and an abbreviated title of at most 45 characters including spaces.
Please be sure to include all authors¡¯ affiliations on the title page. An e-mail, telephone and fax numbers and mailing address are required on the title page for the corresponding author only.
Abstract The abstract should be not more than 250 words. Do not include any abbreviations or references in the abstract.
Tables and Figures Each table or figure should be on a separate page. Table legends should appear above the table on the same page; figure legends should appear together at the end of the main document. The information portrayed in figures must be self-explanatory, containing sufficient information (together with the legend) that it can be understood clearly without reference to the text. Each figure should be clearly labeled within the figure itself, not just in the file name. Information should not be given in a table if it can be given in the text in one or two sentences. Illustrations can be printed in color upon subsidy from the author and are encouraged; contact the Publisher for details.
References Double space all references. Number each reference consecutively in the manuscript in order of citation. Number references consecutively (not alphabetically) in the reference section. Abbreviations of journal titles should follow MEDLINE. List the names of all authors¡ªdo not use et al. Accuracy of citation is the responsibility of the authors; remember that inaccurate references are highly frustrating to the reader, the cited author, and indexing services.
Examples of correct citation include:

Personal Communications If such a reference is necessary, include the name, title, month, and year as well as a letter granting permission to publish from the person providing the information. Personal communication references should be included in the reference list in order of citation.
Permissions
The author must obtain permission to reproduce figures, tables, or text from previously published material. Written permission must be obtained from the original copyright holder (generally the publisher, not the author or editor) of the journal or book concerned and should be supplied to the Editor-in-Chief of Rejuvenation Research. An appropriate acknowledgement should be included to reflect the permission and full publication information cited in the references. Written permission must be obtained from the author of any unpublished material cited from other laboratories, and should accompany the submitted manuscript.
