About the journal
Maritime Engineering publishes high quality technical papers relevant to maritime civil engineering activities within estuaries, along coastlines and in offshore locations. Our primary aim is to publish papers of direct relevance to consulting, client and contracting engineers as well as those engaged in management, planning and applied research.

Maritime Engineering focuses on the salt water environment in the context of safe and sustainable engineering, taking account of social and economic aspects in relation to fixed and moving port and harbour developments, estuarine and coastal protection, habitat creation and maintenance, seabed pipelines and tunnels as well as oil, gas and mineral extraction facilities and alternative energy production systems.
Published 4 times per year: March, June, September, December
We are continually looking for suitable reviewers for papers submitted to Maritime Engineering. Papers published in the Proceedings of the ICE must be submitted to at least two independent referees to judge accuracy, style, impact, importance and interest.
If you are interested in reviewing articles on any topic related to maritime engineering, please submit your name, qualifications or CV, and areas of expertise. We are in need of individuals who will agree to review papers in a timely fashion (within 3 to 4 weeks of receipt) and provide confidential feedback to the Editorial Advisory Panel concerning the quality of the paper and any suggested revisions that would be appropriate.
If you are such a person, please contact Mary Henderson (tel.: 0207 665 2240; e-mail: mary.henderson@ice.org.uk) for more information on the referee process.
