About the journal

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review publishes papers dealing with both applied and theoretical aspects of extractive and process metallurgy and mineral processing. It emphasizes research germane to specific industrial processes and research that examines economic and environmental issues as well as basic engineering technology. Review papers devoted to one genesis, properties and uses of minerals, the scientific, engineering and economic aspects of the extraction, separation and purification of minerals and metals, and the post-treatment of mineral processing and extractive treatment of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy effluents are also invited. In addition to regular issues, special issues addressing narrowly focused subjects of regional or topical significance are published when the Editors feel there is sufficient interest among readers

Abstracting & Indexing

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review is currently abstracted and indexed in Chemical Abstracts Service, CSA - Metals Abstracts/METADEX, CSA - Engineered Materials Abstracts, CSA - Corrosion Abstracts, CSA - Aluminum Industry Abstracts, Engineering Information Inc., Science Citation Index Expanded, Materials Science Citation Index, and Current Contents/ Engineering Computing and Technology.

Instructions to Authors

Aims and Scope. In addition to regular issues, special issues addressing narrowly focused subjects of regional or topical significance are published when the Editor feels there is sufficient interest among readers.

Submission of Manuscripts.

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/gmpr . ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. ScholarOne Manuscripts technical support can be accessed via http://scholarone.com/services/support/. If you have any other requests please contact the journal's editor at skkawatr@mtu.edu.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of no more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text.

References.
Should be listed at the end of the paper and refer only to material cited in the manuscript. They should be listed in alphabetical order by the lead author's last name. In the text, reference citations should include author and year of publication

(Brown 1978). Multiple references are listed in the text chronologically and, in the case of more than one work by the same author or authors in the same year, they are to be listed as Brown 1978a and Brown 1978b. Give both last names for dual authors; for more than two, use 'et al.' in the text. When two authors have the same last name, use identifying initials in the text. In the reference section, list all source citations by author, and within author by year of publication.

The reference list must be complete and include all references in the text. The use of 'et al.' is not acceptable in the reference list; provide the names of all authors. If there is more than one reference to the same author and year, distinguish them by the letters 'a,' 'b,' etc. added to the year (Levy 1963a). Give the publisher's name in as brief a form as is fully intelligible. Note that words in titles of journal articles and book chapters are lower case, whereas words in the titles of books, theses, etc. are capitalized. Also note that magazine, journal and book titles appear in italics. If the cited material is unpublished, use 'forthcoming' with the name of journal or publisher; otherwise use 'unpublished.'

Books: Kawatra, S. K., and Eisele, T. C., 2001, Coal Desulfurization: High Efficiency Preparation Methods, New York: Taylor and Francis.

Periodicals: Sreenivas, T. and Manohar, C., 2000, 'Adsorption of octyl hyroxamic acid=salt on cassiterite,' Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 20, pp. 503-519.

Illustrations. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

  • 300 dpi or higher
  • sized to fit on journal page
  • EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
  • submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files
Color Reproduction. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Color art can be purchased for online only conversion and reproduction or for printþonline reproduction. Color reprints can only be ordered if printþ online reproduction costs are paid. Rates for color art reproduction are:

Online Only Reproduction:
$225 for the first page of color; $100 per page for each of the next three pages of color. A maximum charge of $525 applies.
Print + Online Reproduction: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for each of the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than 4 pages of color.

Tables and Figures
. Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.

Proofs.
Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author.Theymust be carefully checked and returnedwithin 48 hours of receipt in order to avoid publication delay.

Complimentary Policy. Each corresponding author of an article will receive 25 free reprints upon registration with Rightslink, our authorized reprint provider. Authors will need to create a unique account and register for this free service. Complimentary prints are not available post publication.
