The journal covers advances in control of pests and vectors of microbial diseases, the biology and ecology of pests and their antagonists, and the use of beneficial organisms in pest control. Besides arthropod pests, weeds, microbial pathogens, snails and vertebrate pests are covered. Journal of Pest Science devotes special attention to emerging methods for controlling pests, such as the use of infochemicals or genetic techniques, including the effectiveness and side effects on non-target organisms of such methods. Moreover, papers on new methodological approaches for studying the biology and ecology of both pests and their antagonists are welcome. Journal of Pest Science also publishes papers on the management of agroecosystems where this is relevant to pest management. We aim to provide rapid publication and speedy responses to authors, with all papers being reviewed by at least two independent referees.
