About the journal
| The Current Reports journals were developed out of the recognition that specialists have increasing difficulty keeping up to date with the expanding volume of information published in their field. In Current Allergy and Asthma Reports, we aim to help the reader by providing in a systematic manner: |

| 1. the views of experts on current advances in allergy and asthma in a clear and readable form; |
|
| 2. selections of the most important papers from the great wealth of original publications, annotated by experts |
|
| Division of the subject into sections |
|
|
|
| The subject of allergy and asthma is divided into 12 major sections, each of which is reviewed once a year. Each issue contains up to three of the major sections, and the amount of space devoted to each section is related to its importance. |
|
| Selection of topics to be reviewed |
|
|
|
| Section Editors, who are major authorities in the field, are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. They divide their section into a number of topics, ensuring that the field is comprehensively covered and that all issues of current importance are emphasized. Section Editors commission reviews from authorities on each topic that they have selected. |

| Reviews |
|
|
|
| Authors write short reviews in which they present recent developments in their subject, emphasizing the aspects that are most significant. In addition, they provide short annotations to the papers that they consider to be the most important from all those published in their topic over the previous year. Papers chosen by a reviewer as being ¡°of importance¡± or ¡°of major importance¡± are clearly identified in the reference list at the end of each review. |

| Invited commentary |
|
|
|
| The Editor-in-Chief chooses a well-known figure in the field to contribute a brief commentary to accompany each issue. This commentary may be on any subject in the field of allergy and asthma of interest to the writer. |
|
| Review of clinical trials |
|
|
|
| Section Editors write a short review of a few recently published clinical trials relevant to their section to draw the reader's attention to any very new developments not covered by the reviews. |
|
| Web alert |
|
|
|
| Experts select a number of web sites of interest to allergy and asthma physicians. The brief synopses that accompany each site include a description of the contents of the site and why it is worthy of perusal. |
