About the journal
Radiocarbon
Radiocarbon is the main international journal of record for research articles and date lists relevant to 14C and other radioisotopes and techniques used in archaeological, geophysical, oceanographic, and related dating. It is published 3 times a year. We also publish conference proceedings and monographs on topics related to our fields of interest. |

Instructions to Authors
- Call for Submissions
-
Publishing in RadiocarbonWe encourage submissions from researchers working in all disciplines involving radiocarbon dating and other cosmogenic isotope measurement.
Radiocarbon is a multidisciplinary journal. Areas of papers in recent issues have ranged from archaeology through geophysics, climatology, biomedical applications, nuclear power plant surveys, hydrology, oceanography, and carbon cycle models. We welcome submissions dealing with both methodology (measurement techniques, sample preparation, statistics, etc.) and applications of 14C dating.
Why Publish With Us?
- As a multidisciplinary journal, Radiocarbon is indexed and/or abstracted by at least 15 major bibliographical sources covering the physical and social sciences. (see complete list).
- Radiocarbon has become a key source for researchers in our fields of interest. In 1995, for example, we were ranked #3 in impact factor out of 39 journals in the "Geochemistry and Geophysics" category by SCI Journal Citation Reports.
- Time from submission to publication of accepted manuscripts is rapid for a thrice-yearly journal, typically 5-9 months.
For further information about submitting manuscripts, please contact us at editor@radiocarbon.org.
