About the journal
POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC COMPOUNDS
The purpose of this journal is to provide an international and interdisciplinary forum for all aspects of research related to polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAC). Topics range from fundamental research in chemistry (including synthetic and theoretical chemistry) and physics (including astrophysics), as well as thermodynamics, spectroscopy, analytical methods, and biology to applied studies in environmental science, biochemistry, toxicology, and industry. |

Instructions to Authors
Submission of Manuscripts
Authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts on disk. The disk should be prepared using MS Word or WordPerfect and should be clearly labeled with the authors' names, file name, and software program. The copies of the manuscript must exactly match the version supplied on disk. Please indicate complete addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses for all authors. Submit three copies to the Editor in Chief or any of the Topical Editors.
Preparation of Manuscripts
All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten and double-spaced. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of 100-150 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and references to the text within the abstract. Three to six keywords should be provided. The official language of the journal is English. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to have their paper reviewed by a colleague who speaks English fluently before the final draft of the paper is typed. The editor and publisher cannot be responsible for correcting English grammar, spelling, and idioms. Equations must be typewritten with subscripts and superscripts clearly indicated. Identify unusual symbols in the margin. Metric units should be used.
References
Are indicated in the text by superior numbers in the order in which they appear. The full list should be collected and typed on a seperate page at the end of the paper. Follow the format for scientific references listed in The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed., Chicago: University of Chicago Press.
Examples: 1. Books- Keener, J. P and J. Sneyd. 1998. Mathematical Physiology. New York: Springer Verlag. 2. Periodicals- Berridge, M. J., and A. Galione. 1988. Cytosolic calcium oscillators. FASEB Journal. 2:3074-3082
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend, and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated, and should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- sized to fit on journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
Photographs intended for halftone reproduction should be good quality original glossy prints.
Color illustrations will be considered for publication, however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first color figure is $1,200.00. Subsequent color figures are $500 each. Good-quality color prints should be provided in their final size. Figures needing reduction or enlargement will be charged an additional 25%. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable. All tables and figures should be cited by number at least once in the text. Proofs. One set of proofs is sent to the corresponding author. Proofs should be carefully checked and returned promptly.
Supplementary Material
A fully completed CIF (Crystallographic Information File) should be deposited with the CCDC (send files as attachments to deposit@ccdc.cam.ac.uk) and the returned deposition number quoted in the experimental section of the manuscript.
Offprints
Each author of the article will receive a complete copy of the issue in which the article appears, up to a total of 3 copies per article. The corresponding author is responsible for distribution of copies to coauthors. Offprints of an individual article may be ordered from Taylor & Francis by using the reprint order form included with page
