Pediatric Allergy and Immunology

Pediatric Allergy and Immunology publishes original contributions and comprehensive reviews related to the understanding and treatment of immune deficiency and allergic inflammatory and infectious diseases in children. Other areas of interest include development of specific and accessory immunity, and the immunological interaction during pregnancy and lactation between mother and child. Instructions to Authors

All manuscripts should be submitted via the PAI website:

    http://pai.manuscriptcentral.com

Authors submitting a paper do so on the understanding that the work has not been published before, is not being considered for publication elsewhere and has been read and approved by all authors. It is expected that all studies will have received appropriate ethics committee approval. The vested interests of authors (such as company affiliations or funding relevant to the study) must be declared. When the manuscript has been accepted for publication the corresponding author will receive a Copyright Assignment Form from the editorial office to be returned signed on behalf of all co-authors. Alternatively, authors can download a copy of the form from the journal website at http://journals.munksgaard.dk.pai. The initial submission must be accompanied by a letter approved by all authors, indicating that each has contributed significantly to the work and has approved the final manuscript.

The work shall not be published elsewhere in any language without the written consent of the publisher. The articles published in this journal are protected by copyright, which covers translation rights and the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute all of the articles printed in the journal. No material published in the journal may be stored on microfilm or videocassettes or in electronic databases and the like or reproduced photographically without the prior written permission of the publisher.

After submission of a manuscript please address all queries concerning the status of the manuscript to the editorial office.

Manuscripts - should be submitted double-spaced, written in correct English. Every article must be submitted as a file on a newly formatted, 3.5-inch floppy disk; four printed, double-spaced original manuscripts (A4 size with wide margins and printed on one side only) must accompany the disk, along with four copies of all tables and figures. The manuscripts and the file on the disk must be identical, and the disk should contain no other files. the disk must be clearly labelled with the title of the journal, the name(s) of the author(s), the title of the article, and the computer operating system (e.g. DOS, Macintosh) and WP version (e.g. Word 2.0, WordPerfect 5.0) used. Files should not be converted to ASCII format. Since submissions are not insured against loss or damage, authors should retain copies of all materials submitted. The article must be written in correct scientific English suitable for publication. Although articles are subject to review and editing, the journal does not hold itself responsible for all statements made by contributors.

As the journal follows the Vancouver system for biomedical manuscripts, the author is referred to the publication of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors: Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals. BMJ 1991;302: 338-41.

Authors are referred to the articles "The presentation of statistics" http://www.blackwellmunksgaard.dk/tidsskrifter.nsf/bbe453d13fbe9d1dc1256a10003768ad/b16f2372ff85460cc1256a1d0030b8bc/$FILE/The+presentaion+of+Statistics.pdf and "Presenting graphical information" http://www.blackwellmunksgaard.dk/tidsskrifter.nsf/bbe453d13fbe9d1dc1256a10003768ad/b16f2372ff85460cc1256a1d0030b8bc/$FILE/Presenting+Graphical+information.pdf for additional information on preparing manuscripts.

Figures should be planned to fit the proportions of the printed page. Original transparencies plus two sets of colour prints should be submitted. It is the policy of the journal for authors to pay for the full cost for the reproduction of their colour artwork. Therefore, please note that if there is colour artwork in your manuscript when it is accepted for publication, you are required to complete and return a Colour Work Agreement form before your paper can be published. This form can be downloaded online at http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/pdf/Sub3000_X_CoW.pdf.
