About the journal
Nonlinear Dynamics
Nonlinear Dynamics provides a forum for the rapid publication of original research in the developing field of nonlinear dynamics. The scope of the journal encompasses all nonlinear dynamic phenomena associated with mechanical, structural, civil, aeronautical, ocean, electrical and control systems. Review articles and original contributions based on analytical, computational, and experimental methods are solicited, dealing with such topics as
perturbation and computational methods,
symbolic manipulation,
dynamic stability,
local and global methods,
bifurcations,
chaos,
deterministic and random vibrations,
Lie groups,
multibody dynamics,
robotics,
fluid-solid interactions,
system modelling and identification,
friction and damping models,
signal analysis,
measurement techniques. |

Instructions to Authors
Manuscript preparation
Nonlinear Dynamics prefers the submission of papers in LaTeX, however papers submitted in AMSTeX, LAMSTeX and MS Word can also be accepted.
The eventual supply of accepted-for-publication papers in their final form on MS-DOS or Apple Macintosh diskettes in LaTeX together with a hardcopy version (in case anything needs to be checked) will ensure more rapid publication.
A LaTeX style file can be obtained from the Publisher: http://www.wkap.nl/authors/jrnlstylefiles/ Technical Support is available at: texhelp@wkap.nl
Manuscript submission
Four copies of the manuscript should be sent directly to: Ali H. Nayfeh Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University MC 0219 Blacksburg, VA 24061 U.S.A. Fax 540-231-2290 E-mail Sallys@vt.edu or to one of the Contributing Editors A PDF-file of the manuscript may be submitted by e-mail.
Reference Style
References should be listed in numerical order, and should be numbered in the text between square brackets. The format for referencing books and articles in books, journals and proceedings is:

Colour Illustrations
Colour illustrations may be published, providing that the costs of colour printing are subsidised by the author or his/her Institution. Further details can be obtained from the publisher.
Proofs
Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author by e-mail (if no e-mail address is available or appears to be out of order, proofs will be sent by regular mail).
Your response, with or without corrections, should be sent within 72 hours. Please do not make any changes to the PDF file. Minor corrections (+/- 10) should be sent as an e-mail attachment to: proofscorrection@wkap.nl. Always quote the four-letter journal code and article number and the PIPS No. from your proof in the subject field of your e-mail. Extensive corrections must be clearly marked on a printout of the PDF file and should be sent by first-class mail (airmail overseas).
Offprints
We supply 50 offprints free of charge. Additional offprints (both hard copies and PDF files) may be ordered when returning proofs. No page charges are levied on authors or their institutions.
