Instructions to Authors
General Information for Journals Authors
Preparing your manuscript for publication
Submitting your manuscript
- A Consent to Publish and Copyright Agreement is required before a paper will be published. These can be found on the home page of each journal. AMS authors may choose to dedicate their work to the public domain after 28 years from date of publication. For further information, see the article by John Ewing in the March 2004 issue of the Notices of the American Mathematical Society entitled A Modest Proposal.
- Permissions
- Where to send files for accepted papers - links to specific instructions are available on journals home pages
Tracking the progress of your manuscript
Policy on making changes to articles after posting
Information for authors on submitting citations
- This feature of the journals program allows authors to keep their articles dynamic by listing citations made to their work. Citations submitted will appear on the abstract page of the article.
- You may add citations to your article from the Journals Commentary system
Offprints
- For most AMS journals, proceedings, and collections, authors are offered 50 offprints without covers free of charge. In the case of multiple authors, the 50 free offprints will be divided among the authors unless we are otherwise instructed. An Offprint Order Form is mailed to authors along with proof copy of their article.
- Authors of AMS electronic-only journal articles may receive 50 offprints of their article upon request. In the case of multiple authors, the 50 free offprints will be divided among the authors unless we are otherwise instructed.
