About the journal
Scope of Journal
Macromolecular Research publishes original researches on all aspects of polymer science, engineering, and technology, which have not been or are not to be published elsewhere. Papers include Articles, Communications, Notes, Reviews, and Feature articles on the same basis. Articles are comprehensive reports of significant results and should have high scientific quality and originality. Communications should be preliminary reports of unusual urgency and significance. A more complete paper may be published at a later date. A Note deals with a limited subject which requires no further elaboration in the future. The length of both Communications and Notes should be less than 2000 words. Reviews should be short, critical surveys of progress in limited fields of macromolecular research made in recent years. Feature articles are invited reviews self-centered on the author's own research and may contain original results.

Instructions to Authors
Preparation of Manuscript
Three copies of the manuscript should be submitted to the Editor-in-chief. Manuscript should be typewritten or reproduced on a high-quality printer on 22(28 cm or A4 paper, one side only, with adequate margins. The entire manuscript should be double-spaced. A signed copyright transfer form should be included. Authors should present their work in concise and clear English. The name of author to whom inquiries about the paper may be addressed should be marked with an asterisk. Running Heads (less than 50 letters) should be placed between the title of the paper and the abstract. An abstract should be provided for all Articles, Communications, Notes, Reviews, and Feature articles. Abstracts should explain briefly the reason for the work, the significant results, and conclusions. Other subheadings, such as Introduction, Experimental, Results, Discussion, and References, should be flush left and in boldface type or underlined, with initial capitalization only. All pages should be numbered consecutively, including reference and notes, figure captions, and tables, grouped in that sequence following the text. Original copies of graphs, drawings, structural formulas and photographs should be included at the end of the manuscript and authors should indicate in the typeset where these are to be inserted. Figures and graphs should be carefully prepared line drawings and only the originals and high-quality reproductions are acceptable. Symbols and lettering (typewriter labeling is unacceptable) should be compatibly sized for optimum reproduction. References to the literature and all notes (except those in tables) should be numbered in one consecutive series. Reference numbers in the text should be typed as superscript numbers without parentheses or spaces, but enclosed in parentheses in the reference section following the text. References should be arranged and punctuated as follows:
(1) B. Hahn, J. Wendorff, and D. Y. Yoon, Macromolecules, 18, 718 (1985).
(2) P. G. de Gennes, Scaling Concepts in Polymer Physics, Cornell Univ. Press, Ithaca, 1979.
(3) S. Dietrich, in Phase Transitions and Critical Phenomena, C. Domb and J. Lebowitz, Eds., Academic Press, London, 1988, Vol. 12, pp 1-218.
All manuscripts must be accompanied by a brief summary of the key findings of the work and a graphic that depicts the topic addressed. These brief summary and related illustration will be published in the table of contents. The summary should be a description of the accompanying graphic and must reflect accurately the content of the manuscript. Such summaries are limited to 50 words in length and should not be confused with the abstract. The graphic could be in the form of a structure, reaction scheme, graphical data, photograph etc., but not a table. The author must submit a graphic in the actual size to be used, 4.5 cm high and 5 cm wide. Font size of labels, formulas, or numbers within the graphic must be legible. Authors are advised to use systematic names similar to those used by Chemical Abstracts Service and the IUPAC. Chemical Abstracts nomenclature rules are contained in Appendix IV of the current Chemical Abstracts Index Guide.
Proofs and Reprints
Original manuscript, galley proofs, and reprint order forms are sent to the author. Proofs should be checked against the manuscript and returned as soon as possible, along with the filled-out reprint order form. All orders must be filled out before press time and bills are issued subsequent to reprint shipment.
Page Charge
In order to defray in part the cost of publication a page charge may be assessed. However, payment of page charges is not a condition for publication of the paper. The decision as to whether or not to publish the paper is made solely on the basis of merit.
