Pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript. The text should be in Times New Roman font, size:12 pt.Machining Science and Technology is an international journal, hence both US English and International English are accepted for submitted manuscripts.
  2. Following the title, authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. The corresponding author should be clearly indicated when listing the authors 'names and affiliations. Contact details, including email address, for the corresponding author should be given at the bottom of the manuscript's front page. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 200 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and references in the abstract. A maximum of six keywords should be provided after the abstract.
  3. All section headings (Introduction,Conclusions, etc.), as well as the title, should be in bold, capital
letters. First-level subheadings should be in bold letters, and in sentence case. Different sections of the manuscript's main body should be presented in the order: Introduction,...,Summary = Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if necessary), Nomenclature (if necessary), References, Figures, Tables, Appendices (if necessary).
  4. All equations must be numbered, displayed in italics (or equation-type font), and presented on separate lines. All variables (Fx ,Fy ,Fz ,Ra ,etc.) must be in italics, including occurrences within figures and tables. The use of SI units is encouraged. When English units are used,SI equivalents should be provided within brackets.
  5. Tables and figures should not be embedded within the body of the text, but should be presented on separate pages at the end of the text in a single document file, or else provided as separate electronic files. All units must be included wherever necessary. A short descriptive title should appear above each table, with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. A short descriptive caption should be placed below each figure, with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. Any text within figures and tables should be appropriately sized –large enough to be clearly read, but no larger than the text in the main body of the manuscript. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should have a resolution of 300 dpi or higher.Figures should be supplied in eps, jpg, or tiff file formats.Scales must be shown where appropriate.
  6. For figures containing plotted data, all axes must be appropriately labeled (including corresponding units). Kindly ensure that different plotted points =lines =curves are clearly distinguishable from each other upon printing in grayscale, which is the default printing scheme.

Note: Color illustrations will be considered for publication;however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction.Color art can be purchased for online-only conversion and reproduction or for print þ online reproduction.Color reprints can only be ordered if print þ online reproduction costs are paid.Rates for color art reproduction are: Online-Only Reproduction: $225 for the first page of color;$100 per page for each of the next three pages of color. Examples:
    i. For 1 author: ‘‘Li (2000) found ...'' OR ‘‘It has been found that ...(Li,2000)''
ii. For 2 authors:‘‘Xu and Li (2001) observed ...'' OR ‘‘It has been observed that ...(Xu and Li, 2001)''
iii. For more than 2 authors: ‘‘Li et al. (2002) showed ...''OR  ‘‘It has been observed that ... (Li et al., 2002)''
When referring to multiple articles at once, please separate references with a semicolon as follows: (Li, 2000; Xu and Li, 2001; Li et al., 2002).
When citing multiple articles by the same author in the same year, please differentiate between them using letters following the year, for example: (Li et al., 2002a; Li et al., 2002b).
