About the journal
The journal includes papers in the following areas: - simple organic liquids and non-aqueous liquid mixtures - surfactant solutions (including micelles and vesicles) and liquid interfaces - thermotropic and lyotropic liquid crystals - water, aqueous solutions and other hydrogen-bonded liquids - other industrial fluids; lubricants, polymer solutions and melts, etc. - molten metals and salts - phase transitions and other critical phenomena in liquids - self assembly in complex liquids.
The emphasis will be on studies aimed at the molecular (or microscopic) characterisation of particular liquids or liquid systems, especially those aimed at the determination of structure, dynamics and intermolecular forces. Papers will be considered in all three major areas of activity; experimental studies, computer simulations (MD or MC) and analytical theory. The experimental techniques used may include: *Conventional spectroscopy (mid-IR and far IR, Raman, NMR etc) *Non-linear optics and time resolved spectroscopy (psec, fsec, ISRS, etc.) *Light scattering (Rayleigh, Brillouin, PCS, etc.) *Dielectric relaxation *X-ray and neutron scattering and diffraction.

LaTeX
We are pleased to announce our new document class for LaTeX authors, elsarticle.cls. The new class was developed for Elsevier by the leading TeX company River-Valley Technologies. It is based upon the standard LaTeX document class article.cls, and uses natbib.sty for bibliographical references.
We encourage authors to use this document class for testing, and report bugs and problems to the developers of the class, elsarticle@river-valley.com . We intend to finalize this document class by the end of August. By that date it will be accepted for submitted articles, both in our electronic submission system and otherwise.
The new class file, its documentation and templates can be found in the LaTeX section . | |
