The Journal of Earthquake Engineering is a quarterly publication of peer-reviewed papers on research and development in analytical, experimental and field studies of earthquakes from an engineering seismology as well as a structural engineering viewpoint. The Journal combines the three most important ingredients for a successful technical publication; the highest possible technical quality, speed of publication and competitive subscription rates. |

Instructions to Authors
- Four copies of manuscripts (typed on one side of the paper only) are to be submitted with original or good copies of figures and illustrations. When the paper is reviewed, and if accepted, three copies including any suggested modifications are to be forwarded to the editor alongside a 3.5 inch IBM-compatible computer disc (preferably saved as an ASCII file or in a DOS-based wordprocessing package) containing the text of the manuscript. Manuscripts are to be prepared according to the instructions provided, which are available from Professor Elnashai or Imperial College Press, and are reproduced at the end of this issue. A latex source file which may be used as a template for preparing submissions may be obtained by e-mailing the press on edit@icpress.co.uk or from the Imperial College Press website at http://www.icpress.co.uk
