About the journal
The International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction addresses the cognitive, social, health, and ergonomic aspects of work with computers. It also emphasizes both the human and computer science aspects of the effective design and use of computer interactive systems. The journal presents original research both in the generic aspects of interface design and in the special application of interface design in a variety of diversified leisure and work activities.
Instructions to Authors
Manuscripts should be prepared on a word processor and printed on 8 1/2 x 11 inch nonsmear paper. Type all components double-spaced, 1,800 to 2,000 characters per page (70 to 75 characters per line [including spaces] x 25 to 27 lines per page), on one side of the paper, with each component beginning on a new page, and in the following order: title page (p. 1), abstract (p. 2), text (including quotations), references, appendices, footnotes, tables, and figure captions. Consecutively number all pages including photocopies of figures. Indent all paragraphs. Prepare manuscripts according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th edition, 1994). Follow "Guidelines to Reduce Bias in Language" on pages 46-60. In cover letter, include contact author's postal and e-mail addresses and phone and fax numbers. Only original manuscripts will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction. The cover letter should include a statement that the findings reported in the manuscript have not been previously published and that the manuscript is not being simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission to reprint or adapt a copyrighted table or figure or to quote at length from a copyrighted work. Authors should write to original author(s) and original publisher to request nonexclusive world rights in all languages to use the material in the article and in future editions. Include copies of all permissions and credit lines with the manuscript. Submit one original and two high-quality manuscript copies to the editor (see address below).IJHCI also requires soft copy submissions in PDF or Microsoft Word format. These can be sent on disc with the paper copies or submitted via email to the editor. If sent via email, the subject header should read "IJHCI Manuscript Submission." Dr. Kay M.
