About the journal
Biophysical Journal publishes original articles, letters, and reviews on the most important developments in modern biophysics, especially at the molecular and cellular levels. Experimental studies of a purely phenomenological nature, with no theoretical or mechanistic underpinning, are not appropriate for publication in the Journal. Theoretical studies should make strong contact to the areas of experimental studies found in the Journal and/or of the members of the Biophysical Society. Papers describing very significant methodological advances are also suitable for publication in BJ.
