Included in the following ACS Package Plans: ACS Biochemistry/Biotechnology, ACS Polymer & Materials, and ACS All Publications
Biomacromolecules is an interdisciplinary journal publishing original research that explores the interactions of macromolecules with biological systems and their environments as well as biological approaches to the design of polymeric materials. Among the basic areas the journal covers are monomers and polymers from renewable resources, biomaterials, biomedical polymers, biocatalysis, biomacromolecular assembly, biomimetics, biomineralization, bioprocesing, and biocomposites
Application areas include packaging and consumer products, biosensors, biocompatible surfaces, multifunctional surfaces, polymeric drugs, and polymers for engineering applications.

Instructions to Authors
Biomacromolecules is an interdisciplinary journal publishing original research focused on the science occuring at the interface of polymer science and biological sciences. The emphasis will be on fundamental and applied papers that integrate knowledge in both polymer science and the biological sciences.
Instructions on Reference Citations Literature citations and explanatory notes must be numbered in one consecutive series by order of mention in the text, with the numbers presented as unparenthesized superscripts. Authors should consult The ACS Style Guide, 2nd ed. (1997, available from Oxford University Press, Order Department, 201 Evans Road, Cary, NC 27513), for the appropriate style to use in citations of journal papers, books, and other publications. In literature references, journal abbreviations should be those used by Chemical Abstracts [see Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index (CASSI) 1907-1999 Cumulative]. The accuracy of the references is the responsibiliy of the authors. Because subscribers to the Web edition of the journal are now able to click on the "CAS" tag following each reference to retrieve the corresponding abstract at Chemical Abstracts Service, reference accuracy is critical.
Authors are encouraged to use the Biomacromolecules Document Templates for preparing manuscripts for submission as well as for preparing final, accepted manuscripts.
Preparation and Submission of Hardcopy Manuscripts
