The journal places particular emphasis on studies relating to defined effects of chemicals and mechanisms of toxicity, including toxic activities at the molecular level, in humans and experimental animals. Space is also devoted to new insights into analysis and toxicokinetics and to forensic toxicology. Review articles of general interest to toxicologists are a further important feature of the journal. "Archives of Toxicology" is the official journal of the Association of European Toxicologists & European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX). It is edited on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft f¨¹r Experimentelle und Klinische Pharmakologie und Toxikologie.   Instructions to Authors Types of papers Short reports Short reports on new results of special interest will be published out of turn as Short communications and will be given top priority in the editorial and production process. Short communications should normally not exceed 2 printed pages (= 1,000 words), including tables, etc. The editors reserve the right to decide what constitutes a Short communication. Editorials - please note: no Abstract required Review Articles Original Articles Meeting Reports Commentaries • Contributions that are part of a Special Issue must include the following footnote on the title page: "This article is published as part of the Special Issue on [title of the Special Issue]" Manuscript Submission Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation. Permissions Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers.
