About the journal
The Annals of Mathematics is published bimonthly with the cooperation of Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study. Founded in 1884 by Ormond Stone of the University of Virginia, the journal was transferred in 1899 to Harvard University, and in 1911 to Princeton University. Since 1933, the Annals has been edited jointly by Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study.
Instructions to Authors
Editorial correspondence
Papers submitted for publication and editorial correspondence should be addressed to Maureen Schupsky, Annals of Mathematics, Fine Hall, Washington Road, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ 08544.
Preparing and submitting papers
The Annals requests that all papers include an abstract which explains to the nonspecialist mathematician what the paper is about. Compuscripts should ideally be prepared in TeX, LaTeX or AmSTeX, but they can also be prepared in MSWord. The electronic files of accepted papers will be submitted to the Mathematics e-print arXiv, arXiv.org, so the abstracts should conform to arXiv's guidelines by being no more than twenty-four 80-character lines.
Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically and can send the appropriate files to annals@math.princeton.edu, or to the arXiv. Instructions for submissions to the arXiv can be found at the following web address: front.math.ucdavis.edu/submissions. If submitting through the arXiv, please let us know that you have done so, and we will retrieve the electronic files.
Copyright agreement
Authors of papers which have been accepted for publication will be asked to sign a copyright agreement .
Proofs
Authors receive only one set of proofs for corrections. Excessive alterations will be charged to the author.
Offprints
Each author receives gratis 100 offprints of his or her article. Joint authors receive 50 each. Additional offprints can be purchased for $325 per 100 copies.
