About the journal
Analytical Chemistry is a peer-reviewed research journal that explores the latest concepts in analytical measurements and the best new ways to increase accuracy, selectivity, sensitivity, and reproducibility. Coverage includes the latest peer-reviewed research and significant applications in bioanalysis, electrochemistry, mass spectrometry, microscale systems, environmental analysis, separations, and spectroscopy.
In addition, Analytical Chemistry's A-page section contains features and news articles about new analytical concepts, novel apparatus, research published in other international journals, developments in computers and on the Web, and evolving approaches to analytical chemistry education.
Instructions to Authors
Preparation and Submission of Hardcopy Manuscripts
Author instructions vary somewhat for each journal. However, there are general instructions for all journals that include the following:
Here is a brief overview of the ACS Paragon System to submit a manuscript. If you prefer not to submit online, please follow the hardcopy submission information for an explanation of how to prepare and submit your manuscript.
Get Prepared
You'll need to do the following before submitting your manuscript online:
- Register with Paragon
- Read the Author Information
- Download the appropriate manuscript template, if required by the journal
- Prepare your manuscript and all related material
- Download the ACS Copyright Status Form
Submit Your Manuscript
The ACS Paragon System allows corresponding authors or their designee to submit manuscripts to ACS journals. You will be able to upload separate manuscript, cover letter, Supporting Information, and Review-Only files through the Web site. Each journal has specific guidelines, available within Paragon, for submission of these files.
Once you have begun the manuscript submission process, you can log onto this site at any time and see the status of your manuscript(s) on your personal Home Page, including any incomplete submissions.
Throughout the process, information through the last completed step is saved. When the information for your submission is saved, a manuscript number is automatically generated. This unique number is used to track your submission and denote your manuscript on your Paragon Home Page. Incomplete submissions are assigned temporary manuscript numbers; completed submissions receive permanent manuscript numbers. You can interrupt your submission at any time, but each submission step must be completed for the information pertaining to that step to be saved. You can continue the submission at any time by logging into Paragon and accessing your Home Page. You may then resume the submission process, beginning with the first incomplete step.
