About the journal
Healthcare (ISSN 2227-9032) is an international, scientific, peer-reviewed, open access journal on health care systems, industry, technology, policy, and regulation, and is published quarterly online by MDPI.
- Open Access—free for readers, with article processing charges (APC) paid by authors or their institutions.
- High Visibility: Indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) - Web of Science, from Vol. 5. To be covered in Scopus. Citations available in PubMed, full-text archived in PubMed Central.
- Rapid Publication: manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately 14.9 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 2.9 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the first half of 2020).
- Recognition of Reviewers: reviewers who provide timely, thorough peer-review reports receive vouchers entitling them to a discount on the APC of their next publication in any MDPI journal, in appreciation of the work done.

Aims
Healthcare (ISSN 2227-9032) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal (free for readers), which publishes original theoretical and empirical work in the interdisciplinary area of all aspects of medicine and health care research. Healthcarepublishes Original Research Articles, Reviews, Case Reports, Research Notes and Short Communications. We encourage researchers to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. For theoretical papers, full details of proofs must be provided so that the results can be checked; for experimental papers, full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Additionally, electronic files or software regarding the full details of the calculations, experimental procedure, etc., can be deposited along with the publication as “Supplementary Material”.
