About the journal
Chinese Sociological Review publishes high-quality original works from sociologists and other social scientists in the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and abroad. The mission of the journal is to advance the understanding of contemporary Chinese society and contribute to general knowledge in the discipline of sociology. All research articles undergo a rigorous editorial screening and peer review process. The journal is intended for an international readership. Chinese Sociological Review is published in association with the Center for Applied Social and Economic Research, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the National Survey Research Center, Renmin University of China.
The complete digital archives of Chinese Sociology and Anthropology beginning with Volume 1 (1968) are available free of charge to current institutional subscribers to Chinese Sociological Review for the life of the paid subscription.
Volumes 1-33 (1968-2000) are also included in the Asian Studies digital archive collection available for one-time purchase to non-subscribers.

自2011年秋季起，原由美国ME Sharpe 出版公司自1968年以来出版的Chinese Sociology and Anthropology (ISSN: 0009-4625) ，正式更名为Chinese Sociological Review (CSR, ISSN: 2162-0555 [print], ISSN: 2162-0563 [online]), 由香港科技大学吴晓刚教授出任新的主编。CSR为季刊，每年十月、次年一月、四月和七月出版，一期约三万字左右。 CSR 努力为来自中国大陆、香港和台湾以及海外的社会学家和其他社会科学家提供一个学术平台，推动对当代中国社会的高质量、专业化的深入研究，增进社会学学科领域的一般知识。我们特别欢迎针对中国社会现实并有政策涵义的“真问题”， 诸如社会不平等、教育、性别、民族、婚姻家庭、社会趋势与价值变迁等等，进行扎实的经验研究和理论分析的文章。
改版后的杂志以英文发表原创性的文章(Research Articles)为主，辅以讨论 (Editorial Forum), 专题评论(Review) ， 和专刊(Special Issue)。 研究性的文章一般约7000-8000字，须经主编/编委初选后由同行匿名评审。讨论， 专题评论和专刊一般由主编邀请或委托相关编委组织。本刊发表的文章在 Anthropological Index Online, Bibliography of Asian Studies Online, International Bibliography of the Social Sciences, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition, Scopus, Social Sciences Citation Index, Social Scisearch, and Wilson Social Sciences Index均有收录用。
