The Journal of electrochemical science and technology (JECST) is the official journal of the Korean Electrochemical society (KECS).
JECST serves the electrochemistry profession and society by publishing papers containing the results of scientific and engineering research.
It is distributed four times a year. The first volume was published in september of 2010.
Covering fields of this journal are
- Physical electrochemistry - Electroanalytical chemistry and sensor technology - Organic and biological electrochemistry - Environmental and electrochemical engineering - Corrosion and surface treatment - Electronic and ionic materials - Batteries technology - Fuel cell - Electrochemical capacitors - Solar cells
The journal publishes short correspondences, reviews, and full-length research papers.
Only those presentations and discussions that adhere to the international standard maintained by journal will be accepted.
Instructions to Authors
1. Scope
The Journal of Electrochemical Science and Technology, as the official journal of the Korean Electrochemical Society, provides an international forum for the presentation of original studies in electrochemistry and its related fields. The journal's editorial content encompasses the following subjects: physical electrochemistry, electro-analytical chemistry and sensor technology, organic and biological electrochemistry, environmental and electrochemical engineering, corrosion and surface treatment, electronic and ionic materials, batteries technology, fuel cells, electrochemical capacitor and solar cells.
2. Types of Papers
The journal publishes short communications, reviews and full-length research papers. The presentation and discussion in all types of papers should be at the level of the international status of the Journal.
Short communications describes the preliminary results of the studies, partial research results from an ongoing study, results of the studies that are limited in scope, or bring up critical issues or questions based on such results. Short communications submitted to the journal should follow all the basic requirements of full paper manuscripts, but not exceed 10 pages of double spaced manuscript pages including artworks.
Review papers are required to present critical analysis of topical subjects. Review papers submitted to the journal should satisfy all the basic requirements of full paper manuscripts.
Research papers report fundamental or applied studies in a comprehensive manner. They must include new data and/or new interpretations of existing data.
3. Preparation of Manuscript
Full-length research papers describe novel experimental or the oriental results and normally receive two reviews. Timely, critical, in-depth reviews in areas appropriate to the journal are invited. They should set the chosen field in perspective and give the reader some critical guidance in the evaluation of the present electrochemistry. The format for full-length research papers is described below.
Title and Authors: The title should emphasize the primary objective of the paper. The full names of the authors should be provided and the name of the corresponding author should be indicated in a footnote. Indicate the address of the institution where the work was done.
Abstract: The abstract should indicate the aims and essential aspects of the presented in the manuscript within the limit of 200 words. It should be presented in a clear and concise manner, stating the scope and aim of the study, the methodology/procedure employed, the important and unprecedented results derived, and conclusions of the study.
Key words: Authors should provide five key words for subject Index.
Introduction: The introduction appears at the beginning of the paper, and it should be written so that it is understandable to any interested reader of the journal, and not specialists in the related fields. It should cover the objectives, the significant previous work, and significant results.
Body: Each author may choose the format which is the most adequate for the paper. The description of the paper should be concise, excluding any inessential details that are not vital to the core of the paper and are readily reported in previously published papers, or accessible reports. The text should be divided into separate sections, each denoted by an appropriate heading.
Units: All dimensional quantities should be represented using the SI unit system.
Acknowledgment: Acknowledgment, placed at the end of body, cite financial support for the study shown in the manuscript.
References: All references cited in the text should be sequentially numbered in the order in which they appear in the text. An exhaustive list of the references should be included at the end of the text. In-text references should be denoted by numerals in brackets, for example, [2] or [3, 7, 9]. Include only journal abbreviations from Chemical Abstracts. Examples of reference formats are provided below.

Figures: All the figures featuring in the manuscript should be numbered. All diagrams and charts should be vivid and constructed using black ink on white paper. Their size should be appropriate enough to fit a single column after photo reduction. Figure legends should appear in the black space available in the artwork, and not along with the captions. All original artwork should be retained in the paper unless the editor requests to do otherwise. All figure captions should be enlisted on a separate page.
Tables: All the tables in the manuscript should be numbered in Arabic numerals. Their titles, which art to be appended to the paper, should be concise and explanatory. Include column headings in the paper. Any tables or graphs involving duplication should be excluded from the paper. The numbering of the tables should be according to their order of mention in the text.
Equations: All equations should be numbered in Arabic numerals.
4. Submission
Authors may make online submissions of their manuscripts to the Journal of Electrochemical Science and Technology. Directly log in to the website http://www.kecs.or.kr/journal to submit the manuscript. After login, authors should upload the manuscript (one full text file) including every artwork. The uploading manuscript file should be in Microsoft Word (6.0 or later version) or Hangul file formats.
5. Proofs, Copyright and Reprints
Galley proofs of the manuscript will be uploaded in PDF file format to the website of KECS and instructions for reviewing the proofs will be sent by the KECS directly to the corresponding author. The corresponding authors are required to download the proof, make adequate corrections on the proof, and promptly resend it to the KECS office with any other forms that may be required. The expenses of any substantial revisions made to the manuscript after it has been set in type shall be incurred by the author. A form for reprint should be sent to KECS along with the proofs.
