About the journal
Objectives
Due to the galloping growth of the desalination field to help supply water to an exploding active thirsty population, there has been a surge in the number of scientists and engineers involved in water desalting and wastewater reclamation. Following this growth, there has been a flood of papers from scientists and engineers, academia, government and industry from all regions of the world recording results of work in the lab or from operation of plants flowing into the editorial office from about 100 countries. This information needs to be disseminated promptly and widely to the expanding desalination and water community as it is constantly advancing and changing. It is often presented at conferences attended by few. Peer reviewed papers are conveyed through the journal. There is a need to extend the coverage to accommodate additional selected papers promptly. We are ready to meet this challenge with this new publication. |
Desalination and Water Treatment
| The new journal is dedicated to research and application of desalination technology, environment and energy considerations, integrated water management, water reuse, wastewater and related topics. We are turning to main players in the field to support the venture by participating in the publication and subscribing to the new journal at an attractive price. |
Impact Factor
|
Desalination and Water Treatment journal is included in the Web of Science, SCI and Current Contents so that it will get an impact factor. |
Peer Review
| All papers are peer reviewed by at least two referees. Papers presented at conferences are peer reviewed and selected with the same standards as individually submitted papers. They therefore have the same archival value. |
Instructions to Authors
Manuscripts: Please submit papers electronically to dwt@deswater.com both in word and pdf format. Use standard characters only for naming files"
Presentation: Pages should be numbered consecutively. The full title of the paper should be followed by the full name of all authors, the names and addresses of their institutions, telephones, faxes and email addresses.
Figures: Either incorporate figures in text or indicate place in margin. Figures should be clear and the lettering legible and proportional to the size of the figure so that reduction is possible if necessary. Figures will appear in color online and on CDs. However if you wish them to appear in color in print, there will be a charge. Otherwise they will appear in black and white. Please make sure to supply a readable copy also in black and white. Figures, photos, illustrations and graphs should be referred to in the text as figures and numbered consecutively throughout the paper by Arabic numerals.
Abstract and keywords: An abstract of about 200 words should be included and appropriate keywords listed.
References References must be identified by Arabic numerals (e.g. 1, 2 etc.), numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text (between square brackets) and listed at the end of paper. For example: Articles in journals: Hiroshi Tanaka and Yasuhito Nakatake, Desalination, 235 (2009) 1-8 Chapters in books: M. Mickley, In: M. Wilf, Guidebook to Membrane Desalination Technology, Balaban Desalination Publications, L’Aquila 2007, pp. 375–389. Books: R. Sheikholeslami, Fouling of Membrane and Thermal Units. A Unified Approach to its Principles, Assessment, Control, and Mitigation, Balaban Desalination Publications, L'Aquila, 2007.
To ensure that papers receive proper citations in the Web of Science (and thus influence the impact factor of the journal and of your own papers), please make sure you cite relevant papers appearing in Desalination or in Desalination and Water Treatment (see http://www.desline.com/index.cfm keywords). When citing a paper appearing in a proceedings volume, make sure you refer to the journal (not to the proceedings). This will also be significant for the impact factor.
Tables: Tables should be cited in numerical order in the text using Arabic numbers. The table headings should be as follows: Table 1,2,3. Each table should have a descriptive title.
List of symbols: A list of symbols is required if equations are used.
English: We are pleased to receive papers from all regions of the world where English is not the native language. Please ensure that your paper is well presented in logic and good English. This will greatly help process your paper through review and publication if selected.
