Information for Authors
Invasive Plant Science and Management is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal focused on applied research of invasive plant species.
Manuscripts may cover invasive plant biology, ecology, management and restoration of invaded non-crop areas as well as the many other aspects relevant to invasive species, including educational activities, policy issues and case study reports. Both full-length original research articles and shorter notes and field reports are welcome. Newsnotes, announcements, commentaries, and reviews of interest to the weed science community are also welcome. All manuscripts will be submitted for peer-review to the Editor, who will assign it to a selected member of the Editorial Review Board, and independent outside review.
Membership in the Weed Science Society of America is not a prerequisite for submission.

Publications Charges
- Page charges - The Society depends on the payment of page charges to offset the cost of publication. Payment of $65.00/printed page is requested from all authors who have funds available for that purpose. Authors who are not WSSA members are required to pay a $50.00 processing fee. Requests for page charge waivers are rarely granted. Requests for page charge waivers should be sent to the Editor at the time of submission.
- Open access - Charges to make articles open access are $2,000.00 for authors who are members of the Society and $2,500.00 for non-members. Journal articles are posted at www.wssajournals.org. Authors who opt for open access do not pay regular page charges.
- Color charge - Color figures cost $500.00/plate, which must be paid in full before a paper can be scheduled for publication. Authors may opt to have figures printed in black and white but produced in color online. If the author elects to have online color figures, the author will be charged $75.00 per figure.
- Correction charges - Authors are allowed to make up to five corrections in their page proofs. If an author makes more than five corrections, they will be charged $4.75 per correction. This may include changes resulting from a copy editor's query.
Proofs and Reprints
PDF proofs will be sent to the corresponding author, who should send corrections as soon as the PDF is received. Authors may incur additional costs for changes made during the proofs stage. Consult the journal’s submission guidelines or contact the Managing Editor for details.
