About the journal

Journal Scope

Published monthly, ACS Nano is an international forum for the communication of comprehensive articles on nanoscience and nanotechnology research at the interfaces of chemistry, biology, materials science, physics, and engineering. Moreover, the journal helps facilitate communication among scientists from these research communities in developing new research opportunities, advancing the field through new discoveries, and reaching out to scientists at all levels.

ACS Nano publishes comprehensive articles on synthesis, assembly, characterization, theory, and simulation of nanostructures (nanomaterials and assemblies, nanodevices, and self-assembled structures), nanobiotechnology, nanofabrication, methods and tools for nanoscience and nanotechnology, and self- and directed-assembly.

In addition to comprehensive, original research articles, ACS Nano offers thorough reviews, perspectives on cutting-edge research, conversations with nanoscience and nanotechnology thought leaders, and discussions of topics that provide distinctive views about the future of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

ACS Nano, in its first impact year achieved an ISI Impact Factor of 5.472, ranking in the top 10 out of 50 journals in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology.

Instructions to Authors

Overview

ACS Nano requires Web submission of all manuscripts. The Document Templates below can be used for preparing manuscripts for submission as well as for preparing final, accepted manuscripts.

See also Manuscript Preparation and Submission for complete information on acceptable software, preparing and submitting manuscripts using TeX/LaTeX, correct preparation of graphics, etc.

NOTE: Authors may now choose to submit their own Manuscript PDF File for use during the peer review process, or allow the system to generate a PDF automatically. Note that there are also special instructions for Preparing and Submitting Manuscripts Using TeX/LaTeX.

Document Templates

The templates for ACS Nano are available below. Use of a template is encouraged but not mandatory. All accepted manuscripts are typeset from electronic files. The template facilitates the peer review process by allowing authors to place artwork and tables close to the point where they are discussed within the text.

Please use U.S. Letter (8 1/2" by 11") paper size setting in the word processing program as the original document page size for preparation of all manuscripts. Do not use A4 or other size paper settings.

Please read the appropriate README file before downloading the template. This file contains more detailed information on what to expect when you download and use a template. Click on a link below to download the appropriate template that corresponds to the version of the word processing software on your computer.
