About the journal
The Journal of Modern Dynamics (JMD) is dedicated to publishing research articles in active and promising areas of the theory of dynamical systems with particular emphasis on the mutual interaction between dynamics and other major areas of mathematical research, including:
Number theory Symplectic geometry Differential geometry Rigidity Quantum chaos Teichmüller theory Geometric group theory Harmonic analysis on manifolds
PUBLICATIONThe journal is published quarterly by the American Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) with the support of the Center for Dynamics and Geometry at the Pennsylvania State University.
The format is four quarterly issues per year with a total of about 700 pages.
PAPERSAll papers should contain complete proofs of the principal results. There are no restrictions on the size of an individual paper. Papers with a comprehensive treatment of an important area including a detailed and illuminating treatment of necessary background will be given favorable consideration.
All submissions to Journal of Modern Dynamics should be sent electronically either to jmd@math.psu.edu or submitted directly to any editor with a copy to jmd@math.psu.edu. AIMS strongly prefers that authors use the AMS-LaTeX macro package. All papers are reviewed, and recommendations by the editor are put before the editorial board for final approval. Usually a decision will be communicated to the author within 2 months of submission, and the editorial board is committed to rendering a decision within 6 months in all cases.
WEB ACCESSAt this time, electronic files of the papers accepted and published in the journal are available at no charge from the journal's public website. At a later time, the papers will be available from acceptance until some time after publication. Paid subscriptions automatically include both a paper copy and electronic access.
Instructions to Authors
INITIAL SUBMISSIONAll submissions to Journal of Modern Dynamics should be sent electronically either to jmd@math.psu.edu or submitted directly to any editor with a copy to jmd@math.psu.edu.
All papers should contain complete proofs of the principal results. There are no restrictions on the size of an individual paper. Papers with a comprehensive treatment of an important area including a detailed and illuminating treatment of necessary background will be given favorable consideration.
All papers are reviewed, and positive recommendations by the editor are put before the editorial board for final approval. Usually a decision will be communicated to the author within 2 months of submission, and the editorial board is committed to rendering a decision within 6 months in all cases.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATIONAIMS strongly prefers that authors use the AMS-LaTeX macro package. All author-created TeX macros and macro packages used in the paper must be included with the submission. Only standard TeX fonts can be used: Computer Modern, AMSFonts, and LaTeX symbol fonts. PostScript graphics in EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) format can be included and should be sent as separate files. The preferred macro package for including EPS graphics files is the LaTeX graphicx package. A LaTeX document can invoke this package by using
\usepackage{graphicx}
followed by
\includegraphics{epsfilename}
for each EPS graphic file. Additional graphics instructions are also available.
Submissions may consist of one or more TeX files, graphics files, auxiliary files, etc. Authors are invited to use the jmd.cls document class, which has been designed carefully to use the same syntax as the amsart class. A sample provides further suggestions regarding formatting. All submissions must include the JMD template with complete bibliographic information and additional information required for automatic processing.
Each paper requires an abstract not exceeding 200 words summarizing the techniques, methods and main conclusions. To facilitate key words searching and indexing, all manuscripts shall contain AMS subject classification information and key words. In order to read the changes suggested by our copy editors, you may need to use the latest Adobe Reader.
Additional information on TEX preparation can be found at: http://aimsciences.org/journals/Tex_prep.htm.
AFTER A PAPER IS ACCEPTEDThe authors of all accepted papers should retrieve a Consent to Publish and Copyright Agreement Form, fill it out, sign and email the pdf of a scanned copy to editorial@aimsciences.org or send the hard copy to
American Institute of Mathematical Sciences P.O. Box 2604 Springfield, MO 65801-2604, USA
Accepted paper will be formatted in to jmd-style and sent to the authors for proof-reading.
Contributions to this journal are published free of charge.
WEB ACCESSAt this time, electronic files of the papers accepted and published in the journal are available at no charge from the journal's public website. At a later time, the papers will be available from acceptance until some time after publication. Paid subscriptions automatically include both a paper copy and electronic access.
