About the journal
Clinical Research in Cardiology is an international journal for clinical cardiovascular research. It provides a forum for original and review articles as well as clinical correspondence and critical perspective articles. Articles are only accepted if they meet stringent scientific standards and have undergone peer review. The journal regularly receives articles from the field of clinical cardiology, angiology, as well as heart and vascular surgery.
As the official journal of the German Cardiac Society, it gives a current and competent survey on the diagnosis and therapy of heart and vascular diseases. Several supplemental issues give an overview on the current knowledge in specific areas of heart and circulatory clinical research.

Instructions to Authors
Manuscript submission Please submit your
manuscript in a standard Word-format (MS
Word or Word Perfect) and whenever possible
together with a pdf-file that includes all images
and tables.
Receipt of the manuscript will be acknowledged
in writing within 14 days. If this should not be
the case, authors are requested to check with
the editorial office.
Please submit original, review articles and
clinical correspondence in English language
only. All manuscripts will be peer reviewed. Manuscripts
which do not follow the suggested outline
will be returned to the author for correction of
shortcomings. Original and review articles should
not exceed 18 typed pages of 1800 characters
each, including tables, images etc.
Letters to the editors or case reports will be
considered for publication as “Clinical Correspondence?
they should not contain more than 600
words, 1 figure, 1 table (or 2 of either), and 15
references. Summary and key words are not required.
The manuscript must be double-spaced, typed
on one side of the paper, with a wide margin.
The manuscript pages, including references and
legends, must be sequentially numbered
throughout.
Title abbreviation of the journal for references:
Clin Res Cardiol
Outline The first page of the manuscript should
include: 1. Title of the article, 2. Name of all
authors, 3. Footnotes to the title, 4. Complete address
of all authors with identification ()) of
the corresponding author, 5. Column title (running
title of the article for the page heading).
The tables are to be numbered independent of
the figures with Arabic numerals, with headings,
and kept separate from the text.
Figures must also be numbered with Arabic numerals
and kept separate from the text. The legends
must appear on a separate page. The desired
insertion places of figures and tables are
to be marked clearly in the text.
Electronic files Please observe our technical
instructions (which are available on our website
and in certain issues of the journal) for the
composition of your manuscript files.
Summary and Key words A summary containing
the essential points must accompany each
article (except for clinical correspondence). It
should be written to present a condensed extract
of the article and be suitable for international documentation
systems. An inadequate summary delays
the processing of the manuscripts. Up to 5 key
words needed for a register and for documentation
purposes are to be given below the summary.
References Only articles cited in the text are
to be listed. They should be arranged alphabetically
by the first author’s name and numbered
sequentially. Only the reference number should
appear in the text (in parentheses).
Please do not list more than 30 literature references.

U (2001) Positionspapier zur intrakoronaren Brachytherapie.

Figures If the author wants to re-use previously
published material he is responsible to
provide a permission by the copyright-holder.
Double presentation of the same information in
tables and figures should be avoided. Short, clear
legends make additional description in the text
unnecessary.
The author is responsible for obtaining either
from the patient or his legal representative permission
for the reproduction of figures in which
a patient can be recognized.
For general advice on the delivery of image files
please refer to the Technical Instructions on our
website and in certain issues of the journal.
Color illustrations will be accepted up to the discretion
of the editors/the publisher.

when the page proofs are returned. Steinkopff
will supply the corresponding author with one
complementary copy of the relevant issue.
