About the journal
Neurology Asia, previously known as Neurological Journal of South East Asia, is the official journal of the ASEAN Neurological Association (ASNA) and the Asian & Oceanian Association of Neurology (AOAN). It is also participated by other national neurological associations in Asia, and the regional neurological associations: Asian & Oceanian Myology Centre, Asian Epilepsy Academy of the International League Against Epilepsy, and Multiple Sclerosis Asia Pacific Study Group. The primary purpose is to publish the results of study and research in neurology, especially Asian neurology, the medical sciences applied to neurological diseases occurring primarily in Asia, and aspects of diseases peculiar to Asia.
Neurology Asia is indexed in Thompson Reuters under Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports / Science Edition, EBSCO in Academic Search Complete Database, Google Scholar and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals).
Instructions to Authors
Neurology Asia will publish manuscripts dealing with any aspect of neurology. In addition to original articles, Neurology Asia will publish brief communications and case reports (up to 1,000 words), and letters to the editor (up to 500 words). Papers are accepted on the understanding that they are original. Editorials and review articles are published by invitation. All manuscripts, including solicited materials, are subject to editorial revisions.
Manuscript Preparation
Type on white paper, preferably A4 (30x21 cm) size, with margins of at least 25mm (1 in). Type only on one side of the paper. Use double spacing throughout. Begin each of the sections on separate pages: title, abstract and key words, text, acknowledgements, references, individual tables and legends.
Title Page
The title page should carry:
The title of the article, which should be concise but informative
Full name or initials and surname of each author, with highest academic degree(s) (not more than 2) and institutional affiliation
Name and address of author responsible for correspondence
The source(s) of support in the form of grants, equipments or drugs
Abstract and Key Words
The abstract should be not more than 200 words. The abstract should state the purpose(s) of the study, basic procedures, main findings, and the principal conclusions. Emphasize new and important aspects of the study. Provide 3-10 key words or short phrases that will assist in cross-indexing of the article. Use terms from the medical subject headings list of Index Medicus when possible.
Text
Text should be divided into the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Long articles may need sub-headings within some section to clarify their content. Articles such as case reports, reviews, and editorials are likely to need other formats.
References
Number references consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Identify references by Arabic numerals. The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to the style used in Index Medicus. Manuscipts accepted but not yet published may be included in the references; designate the journal followed by in ?press" (in parenthesis). Information from manuscipts not yet accepted for publication should be cited in the text as "unpublished observations" (in parenthesis).

Tables
Type each table, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. Do not submit tables as photographs. Number tables consecutively in the order of their first citation in the text and supply a brief title for each. Place explanatory matter in footnotes. Explain in footnotes all non-standard abbreviations used.
Figures (Illustrations)
Submit 2 complete sets of figures. Instead of original drawings, XRs, send sharp, glossy black-and-white photographic prints, usually 127 x 173 mm (5 x 7 in). Titles and explanations belong in the legends for illustrations.
Units of Measurements
Measurements of length, height, weight, and volume should be in metric units. Temperature should be given in degrees Celsius. All hematological and clinical chemistry measurements should be reported in the metric system in terms of International System of Units (SI).
Abbreviation and Symbols
Use only standard abbreviations. Avoid abbreviations in the title and summary. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement.
Submission of Manuscripts
Mail 2 copies of the manuscript and a diskette to:

Manuscript should be accompanied by a covering letter which includes the name, address, telephone, fax numbers and E-mail address of the corresponding author, who is responsible for communicating with the other authors about revisions and final approval of the proofs.
