Manuscript Submission

The Korean Circulation Journal has an online submission and peer review system. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically at http://www.submission.e-kcj.org. Please log in first as a member and follow the directions. Manuscripts should be submitted by the corresponding author, who must indicate the contact address and phone number for correspondence in the title page of the manuscript. All articles submitted to the Journal must abide by these instructions. Failure to do so will result in return of the manuscript and possible delay in publication. For assistance please contact us via e-mail, telephone, or fax.

The revised manuscript should be submitted through the same web system under the same identification number. The copyright transfer form must be mailed or faxed to the following address.

Queries concerning the manuscript submission should be directed to:

Editor, Korean Circulation Journal
Room 801, Masters Tower, 331 Dongmak-ro, Mapo-gu,
Seoul 121-040, Korea
Tel: 82-2-3275-5258
Fax: 82-2-3275-5259
E-mail: herz4@circulation.or.kr

Editorial and Peer Review Process
Manuscripts are examined by the editorial staffs and re-evaluated by expert reviewers assigned by the editors. The acceptance criteria for all papers are based on the quality and originality of the research and its clinical and scientific significance, and topical balance of the journal. An initial decision will normally be made within 6 weeks of receipt of a manuscript, and the reviewers' comments are sent to the corresponding author via e-mail. If any corrections have been made, corresponding author must submit the revised manuscripts to the E-Submission System. The corresponding author must indicate the alterations that have been made in response to the referees' comments item by item. Failure to resubmit the revised manuscript within 8 weeks of the editorial decision is considered to be a withdrawal.

Editorial Policy
The Editor assumes that all authors listed in the manuscript have agreed with the following policy of manuscript submissions. Except for the preapproved secondary publication, manuscripts submitted to the Journal must be previously unpublished and not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Under any circumstances, the identities of the referees will not be disclosed. If the corresponding author decided to add a new author or to remove an author after the submission, it is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that all the other authors concerned are aware of and agree to the changes in authorship. KCJ has no responsibility for such changes.

All published manuscripts become the permanent property of the KCJ and may not be published elsewhere without written permission.

Ethical Considerations
All of the manuscripts should be prepared in strict observation of research and publication ethics guidelines recommended by the Council of Science Editors, International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, World Association of Medical Editors, and the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors ("Good Publication Practice Guidelines for Medical Journals" http://kamje.or.kr/intro.php?body=publishing_ethics). Indicate that the study was approved by an institutional review committee and that the subjects gave informed consent. Please refer to the principles embodied in the Declaration of Helsinki (http://www.wma.net/en/30publications/10policies/b3/index.html) for all investigations involving human materials. Animal experiments also should be reviewed by an appropriate committee (IACUC) for the care and use of animals. Also studies with pathogens requiring a high degree of biosafety should pass review of a relevant committee (IBC). The editor of KCJ may request submission of copies of informed consents from human subjects in clinical studies or IRB approval documents.

  Authorship
Authorship credit should be based on 1) substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and 3) final approval of the version to be published. All authors should meet conditions 1, 2, and 3. When a large, multicenter group has conducted the work, the group should identify the individuals who accept direct responsibility for the manuscript. When submitting a manuscript authored by a group, the corresponding author should clearly indicate the preferred citation and identify all individual authors as well as the group name. Journals generally list other members of the group in the Acknowledgments. Acquisition of funding, collection of data, or general supervision of the research group alone does not constitute authorship.

  Conflict of Interest
At the time of manuscript submission, "Korean Circulation Journal" requires corresponding author to summarize all authors' conflict of interest disclosures. A conflict of interest may exist when an author (or the author's institution or employer) has financial or personal relationships or affiliations that could influence (or bias) the author's decisions, work, or manuscript. KCJ requires complete disclosure of all relevant financial relationships and potential financial conflicts of interest, regardless of amount or value. The corresponding author of an article is asked to inform the Editor of the authors' potential conflicts of interest possibly influencing their interpretation of data. In particular, all sources of funding for a study should be stated explicitly. Such conflicts may be financial support or private connections to pharmaceutical companies, political pressure from interest groups, or academic problems. Disclosure form shall be same with ICMJE Uniform Disclosure Form for Potential Conflicts of Interest (http://www.icmje.org/coi_disclosure.pdf). The corresponding author is required to complete and submit the ICMJE Form for Disclosure of Potential Conflicts of Interest. All sources of funding should be declared as a section of "acknowledgment" at the end of the text. At the time of manuscript acceptance, KCJ ask authors to confirm and update their online disclosure statements as online form. At the time of publication, the completed disclosure statements become available for readers to view on http://www.submission.e-kcj.org. If an author's disclosure of potential conflicts of interest is determined to be inaccurate or incomplete after publication, a correction will be published to rectify the original published disclosure statement, and additional action may be taken as necessary.
