The society was inaugurated in 1994 and pursues the improvement of the knowledge on the parasites and parasitic diseases, exchange of scientific knowledge with foreign societies, publicity activities, and consultation on the parasitic diseases, and intimate relationship among society members. IJP is supported and published by Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services and appears quarterly. The main aims of the Journal are: contribution to the field of Parasitology, including all aspects of parasites and parasitic diseases (medical and veterinary) and related fields such as Entomology which may be submitted by scientists from Iran and all over the world. It is highly appreciated to receive your Review articles, Original papers, Short communications, Case reports and letters to the Editor on the above mentioned research fields. Indexing and abstracting This Journal is indexed and abstracted in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) by Thompson/ISI, EMBASE, EMBiology, Index Copernicus, Index Medicus for the Eastern Mediterra­nean Region (IMEMR), CABI and Chemical Abstract. Instructions to Authors   The "Iranian Journal of Parasitology "is the official scientific quarterly publication of the Iranian Society of Parasitology (ISP). It accepts Original papers, Review articles, Short communications and Letters to the Editor in the general fields of Parasitology. Papers presented at scientific meetings should be accompanied by particulars of the meeting.  2. Submission:  Manuscripts must be submitted in English with Persian abstract and should be written according to sound grammar and proper terminol­ogy. Manuscripts should be typed on one side of an A4 paper, with double spacing and 3 cm margin at each side, and submitted in triplicate, including a CD or diskette to the aforementioned address. On-line submission is acceptable via E.mail : ijpa@tums.ac.ir  3. Manuscript must be accompanied by a covering letter to the Editor-in-Chief, including title and author(s) name and undertaking that it has not been published or submitted elsewhere.  4. The first page of the paper should only contain the title, name(s), degree(s) and addresses (Tel, Fax, and Email) of the author(s) with signature of all authors and the source(s) of financial support for the study.  5. The text should include: Title; without author(s) name; the English and Persian abstracts (for Iranian authors only), each  no more than 200 words, which state  the purpose of the study, basic procedures, main findings, the prin-ci­pal conclusions and inclusive of all the in-forma­tion requested under item 5; 3-5 Keywords; In-troduc­tion; Materials & Methods; Results; Dis-cus­sion; Conclusion; Acknowledgements and References.  6. Tables in limited numbers should be submitted on separate pages with the captions placed above. Do not submit tables as photograph. Place explanatory matters in footnotes, not in the heading. 7. Figures and graphs (only in black and white), in limited numbers, are accepted only if they are of high quality art work and mounted on separate pages. The captions should place below.  8. The same data should not be presented simultane­ously in tables, figures and text. 9. References: Bibliographical references should be numbered consecutively as they occur in the text. The number is placed in parentheses. The refer­ences should observe the following style: Article: Halpern SD, Ubel PA, Caplan AL. Solid-organ transplantation in HIV-infected patients. Avoid using them in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement. 11.The corresponding author will be supplied with 4 free issues. 12. Informed consent of the patients participating in the study should be undertaken. 13. Ethics: All studies must be approved by the rele­vant Ethics committee/ institution review boards of the respective institutions. Informed consent of the patients participating in the study should be under­taken.  14. Conflicts of interest: Submitting a manuscript must be accompanied with a statement from the authors disclosing all financial and personnel relationship that might bias their work, if any. Besides, they are requested to evident whether impending conflicts do or do not exist. A separate page should cover this proclamation and if there are further details, could be mentioned in covering letter. If an organization encompasses any financial interest in the outcome of the study, the authors are appealed to provide a declaration that have full excess to all the data in the study and take complete responsibility for the integrity of the data and the accuracy of the data analysis.  15. Page charges: There are no charges for publication in this Journal.  16. Copyright: Accepted manuscripts become the permanent property of the Journal and may not be reproduced, in whole or in part, without the written permission of the Editor.  17. Process of evaluating the paper: Iranian J Para-si­tol is a peer reviewed journal. All manu­scripts will be acknowledged upon presenting to the Jour­nal office, provided that all stated requirements are met. The manuscript is sent to two or more review­ers. The whole review process depends on receiv­ing referees' comments and revising the manuscripts based on these comments to the author. On receipt of the revised article from the author, and after final approving by referees, the letter of acceptance is issued to the author. Authors have the right to communicate to the editor if they do not wish their manuscript to be reviewed by a particular reviewer because of potential conflicts of interest. The author can also suggest the name of possible reviewers but it is up to the editor to accept it. No article is rejected unless negative comments are received from at least two reviewers.  18. The Editorial Board of the journal, reserves the right to accept or reject the article in any stage and any time or delete a part of the text, tables or figures, if necessary. The Final Checklist   The authors are requested to mark a copy of the following form and attach it to the covering letter  A covering Letter  1.Three copies of complete manuscript are presented. 2.The manuscript has been read and approved by all listed authors. 3.Title page contains the title, name(s), degree(s) affiliation(s) and addresses, Tel, Fax, and E-mail of the author(s). 4.Abstract is in structured format that mentions Introduction; Materials & Methods; Results; Conclusion and Keywords. 5.Figures / illustrations are in high quality art work, along with their captions.  6.Bibliographical references are mostly up-to-date and are numbered consecutively as they occur in the text and at the end of the manuscript are numbered accordingly. 7.All human and animal studies are approved by respective Ethics Committee.  8.A floppy disk/CD containing the complete manuscript in Microsoft Word format is enclosed.  9.Hereby we accept liability for the scientific integrity of the manuscript contents.
