About the journal
 Contributions to Discrete Mathematics
Contributions to Discrete Mathematics (ISSN 1715-0868) is a refereed e-journal dedicated to publishing significant results in a number of areas of pure and applied mathematics. Based at the University of Calgary, Canada, CDM is free for both readers and authors, edited and published online and will be mirrored at the European Mathematical Information Service and the National Library of Canada.
Scope
We publish research articles written in English in areas such as combinatorics and graph theory, discrete and computational geometry, discrete optimization and operations research, theoretical computer science, and coding and communication theory. Author Guidelines
General and technical guidelines
Contributions to Discrete Mathematics publishes current, unpublished research papers that fall into the categories listed on our home page. Papers submitted to CDM undergo a web-based refereeing process that is carried out using Open Journal Systems.
For the review process, authors must submit a PDF version of the article. For the article to be published, we will require LaTeX2e source files. Please prepare your article using the amsart document class, which is compatible with the journal's style. Authors should use a minimum of user-defined macros, and logical, standard LaTeX markup rather than hard-coding formatting.

Submitting a paper
First, register, or log in.
Once you have registered, you may log in at any time to submit a paper by clicking "submit" on the "User > Author" page and entering the appropriate information for the steps listed. In step 1, you may suggest potential referees for your manuscript. In step 3, when asked to upload your submission, please submit your article in PDF format. (We do not require any supplementary files in step 4.)
You will receive confirmation of your submission and updates on the status of your article by e-mail. If you have any other questions, please e-mail cdm@math.ucalgary.ca.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published nor is it before another journal for consideration; or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor.
- The submission file is in PDF file format.
- All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://www.ucalgary.ca) are activated and ready to click.
- The text meets this journal's formatting requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines found in About the Journal.

Copyright Agreement in Printable Format Consent to Publish and Transfer of Copyright The Governors of the University of Calgary (Journal: Contributions to Discrete Mathematics) The Governors of the University of Calgary (the "University") requires the Author of an article in University-sponsored publications to provide a formal written Consent to Publish and a full Transfer of Copyright in the article to the University prior to publication. The Consent to Publish gives the University the permission of the Author to publish the Work. The Author also warrants that the Work does not libel anyone, infringe anyone's copyright, or otherwise violate anyone's statutory or common law rights. 3. The Author shall defend and hold harmless the University, its officers, employees and agents from all actions, costs and expenses that such parties may incur by reason of or arising from any misrepresentation made by the Author pursuant to clause 2. 4. The Author hereby transfers to the University the copyright of the Work. This journal provides open access to all of it content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author's work. For more information on this approach, see the Public Knowledge Project, which has designed this system to improve the scholarly and public quality of research, and which freely distributes the journal system as well as other software to support the open access publishing of scholarly resources.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
