Online Manuscript SubmissionOnline Manuscript Submission

Effective immediately, the Journal of Inorganic and Organometallic Polymers and Materials uses a fully web-enabled online manuscript submission and review system. To keep the review time as short as possible, we require authors to submit manuscripts online to the journal’s editorial management office. Our online manuscript submission and review system offers authors the option to track the progress of the review process of manuscripts in real time. Manuscripts should be written in English and submitted to: http://joip.edmgr.comThe online manuscript submission and review system for the Journal offers easy and straightforward log-in and submission procedures. This system supports a wide range of submission file formats: for manuscripts ?Word, WordPerfect, RTF, TXT and LaTex; for figures ?TIFF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, PPT, and Postscript. We regret that PDF files are not acceptable.NOTE: The online manuscript submission and review system makes it unnecessary to submit the manuscript also as a printout, on disk, or in an e-mail. Legal RequirementsLegal Requirements

Submission is a representation that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. A statement transferring copyright from the authors (or their employers, if they hold the copyright) to Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. will be required before the manuscript is published. The Editor will supply the necessary forms for this transfer. A written Transfer of Copyright, that previously was assumed to be implicit in the act of submitting a manuscript, is necessary under the new U.S. Copyright Law in order for the publisher to carry through the dissemination of research results and reviews as widely and effectively as possible.Permissions:Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their manuscript. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.Commercial products or scientific equipment should always carry the correct trademark and any relevant registered trademark. How to Submit Your Manuscript:Authors are asked to suggest the names and addresses of at least three referees who are experts in the field of their paper.

Title PageTitle Page

The title page should include the following:- The name(s) of the author(s).- A concise and informative title.- The affiliation(s) and address(es) of the author(s).The e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author.Abstract: An abstract of 100 to 150 words is required. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.Key Words:Please provide 4 to 6 keywords, which will be used for indexing.

TextText

Text Formatting:For submission in using Word software, Springer provides a Word template ?Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 10- or 12-point Times Roman) for text. ?Use italics for emphasis. ?Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages. ?Do not use field functions ?Use tab stops or other commands for indents; do not use the space bar. ?Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables. ?Use the equation editor or MathType for equations.Note: If you use Word 2007, do not create the equations with the default equation editor but use MathType instead.Save your file in two formats: doc and PDF (a single file including text, tables and figures). Make sure that all fonts are embedded in the PDF.Heading Levels and Numbering System:Use the decimal system of headings with no more than three levels.Abbreviations and Acronyms:Abbreviations should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter.Standard International Units and Numbers:Papers must be consistent with respect to symbols, units, and terminology. SI units and the quantity calculus method should always be used. Units should be quoted (e.g. for the gas constant) in the form J mol-1 K -1 . Contributors will find a safe guide in the Manual of Symbols and Terminology for Physiochemical Quantities and Units [Butterworths, 1970; Pure Appl. Chem. 37, 499-416 (1974)].Nomenclature: Insofar as possible, authors should use systematic names similar to those used by Chemical Abstract Service or IUPACAcknowledgments:Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the reference list. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.

ProofsProofs

Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author by e-mail, together with some forms and instructions on how to return corrections and the relevant forms. These instructions should be followed closely. To avoid delays in publication, please send your response, with or without corrections, within 72 hours of receipt of the proofs.Proof Reading:The purpose of the proof is to check for typesetting errors and the completeness and accuracy of the text, tables and figures. Substantial changes in content, e.g., new results, corrected values, title and authorship, are not allowed without the approval of the Editor. After online publication, further changes can only be made in the form of an Erratum, which will be hyperlinked to the article.

TablesTables

?/SPAN> All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals. ?Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order. ?For each table, please supply a table caption. The table title should explain clearly and concisely the components of the table. ?Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table heading.Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.

FiguresFigures

?/SPAN> All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals. ?Figure parts should be denoted by lowercase letters ?Figures should always be cited in the text in consecutive numerical order. ?Supply a figure caption for each figure. ?Make sure to identify all elements found in the figure in the caption. ?Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the caption. For more information about preparing your illustrations, use the following URL: http://www.springer.com/east/home/authors/manuscript+guidelines?SGWID=5-40162-7-436410-0Electronic Supplementary Material (ESM)If (ESM) is submitted, it will be published as received from the author in the online version only. ESM may consist of?Information that cannot be printed: animations, video clips, sound recordings ?Information that is more convenient in electronic form; e.g., sequences, spectral data, etc. ?Large original data, e.g. additional tables, illustrations, etc. If supplying any ESM, the text must make specific mention of the material as a citation, similar to that of figures and tables (e.g., ". . . as shown in Animation 3.").For details on formats and other information on supplementary material, please click here: http://www.springer.com/east/home/chemistry?SGWID=5-40162-7-436410-0

Open ChoiceOpen Choice

In addition to the normal publication process (whereby an article is submitted to the journal and access to that article is granted to customers who have purchased a subscription), Springer now provides an alternative publishing option: Springer Open Choice. A Springer Open Choice article receives all the benefits of a regular subscription-based article, but in addition is made available publicly through Springer's online platform SpringerLink. We regret that Springer Open Choice cannot be ordered for published articles. Copyright Transfer:Authors will be asked to transfer copyright of the article to the Publisher. This will ensure the widest possible protection and dissemination of information under copyright laws. Open Choice articles do not require transfer of copyright as the copyright remains with the author. In opting for open access, they agree to the Springer Open Choice License.Offprints/Reprints:Offprints (either hard copies or PDF files) can be ordered by the corresponding author.Color in Print and Page Charges:No page charges are levied on authors or their institutions. Online publication of color illustrations is free of charge. For color in the print version, authors will be expected to make a contribution towards the extra costs. Currently, this amount is $1,150 per article. Online First:The article will be published online after receipt of the corrected proofs. This is the official first publication citable with the DOI number. After release of the printed version, the paper can also be cited by issue and page numbers.
