INSTRUCTION FOR PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGY REVIEWS (PER) publishes scholarly review articles in all areas of clinical and experimental Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolism. PER is intended for practicing pediatricians, pediatric endocrinologists, pediatric diabetologists, pediatric gastroenterologists, neonatologists, pediatric gynecologists, nutritionists, sport physicians and pediatricians-in-training.
PER will also publish topics on specific subjects or as proceedings of scientific meetings in the above fields of interest. All articles, whether invited or direct contributions, are peer-reviewed. PER publishes correspondence, book reviews, a meeting calendar and meeting reports.

Manuscripts
Must be typewritten in English in Arial 12 font on one side 8 1⁄2 x 11 inch (22 x 28 cm) heavy-duty white bond paper sequentially numbered, (including references, tables legends and footnotes). Abstract, references, tables and legends should each begin on a new page. Manuscripts should not exceed 16 printed pages including references, tables and figures. (4300 characters with spaces/page)

Copyright release should be addressed to Y.S. Medical Media, Ltd., which should include the article title, date and must be signed by all the authors.
Title Page
Include: authors’ names, academic degrees and departmental and institutional affiliations of each. Designate one author as the corresponding author and provide address: business and phone; telephone numbers, fax numbers and email.
Include a running title and up to 8 keywords.
Abstract
Not exceeding 150 words, should incorporate data on background, Objective or hypothesis and main data. The abstracts will be available on the web. References
Should be cited consecutively in the text in parentheses, regular size, and listed in the same numerical order at the end of the paper. List the names of all authors. Reference Example

Illustrations
Figures should be numbered consecutively. Legends of the figures should be typed single spaced on a separate sheet next to the word “legend”. The cost of color illustrations will be charged to the author if printed in the text.
Tables
Each table must be typed on a separate sheet and numbered consecutively. Large Tables will be treated as Figures and must be of acceptable quality for printing.
Reprints
A reprint order form will be provided with the Galley Proofs. Galley Proofs After submission of all authors’ final corrections, only printer’s errors may be corrected.

Professor Laron founded pediatric endocrinological research in Israel in 1957 by establishing in 1958 the Institute for Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology at the Beilinson Medical Center, affiliated to Tel Aviv University, which he led it until 1992. Laron was one of the first members of the teaching staff of the School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and had a leading role in elaborating the pediatric teaching program at that institution. From 1983 to 1997 Laron was Incumbent of the Irene and Nicholas Marsh Chair in Endocrinology and Juvenile Diabetes, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He also founded the All-Country Center for Juvenile Diabetes and an endocrinological laboratory aimed to develop new methods of detecting hormones in blood. This laboratory worked in the frame of the Rogoff and Felsenstein Institute of Research.
Since 1998 Laron has been Professor Emeritus of Pediatric Endocrinology, Tel Aviv University and Director of Endocrinology and Diabetes Research Unit, Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel.
The well known Laron syndrome, or Laron-type dwarfism described by him in 1966, together with A. Pertzelan and S. Mannheimer, related to growth hormone receptor mutations is named after him. The institute of pediatric endocrinology founded and led by him was among the first medical centers to produce and use in therapy the GH and IGF hormone. Prof. Laron founded the scientific journals "Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism", "Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology" and is current Editor in Chief of "Pediatric Endocrinology Reviews"
Mitchell E. Geffner MD

Dr. Geffner is Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1975; was an intern, resident, and chief resident at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center between 1975-1979; and completed a three-year fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at UCLA between 1979-1982. He remained at UCLA through December 31, 2001, rising up the academic ladder to the rank of Professor in 1996. His longstanding basic science research interest is in the general area of hormone resistance while, on the clinical side, he is involved in studies of new formulations, delivery systems, and indications for GH and GnRH agonist therapy. Dr. Geffner is principal investigator at CHLA of the NIH-sponsored TODAY2 trial which is studying long-term outcomes of youth with type 2 diabetes and national endocrinology consultant to the NIH-sponsored PHACS study of adolescents with HIV infection and uninfected children exposed to anti-retroviral therapy in utero, as well as to the related mitochondrial determinants of metabolic disease substudy. Dr. Geffner has had a career-long interest in medical and patient education. He completed a 3-year tenure as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the (Lawson Wilkins) Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES) and a 6-year term on the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board on Pediatric Endocrinology. He is a medical advisor on childhood panhypopituitarism for the MAGIC Foundation and the Pituitary Network Association, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of CARES Foundation. Lastly, Dr. Geffner is pediatric endocrinology editor for UpToDate, Associate Editor of the journal, Pediatric Endocrinology Reviews, and co-editor of the textbook, “Pediatric Practice: Endocrinology” (McGraw-Hill), the second edition of which is soon to be published. He received the 2013 Pioneer Award from CARES Foundation and is President of the Pediatric Endocrine Society
Toshiaki Tanaka MD

After graduating form Tokyo University, School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Tanaka developed a sensitive bioassay for lactogenic hormones during a research fellowship in Canada in 1980. He became Doctor of Medical Science in 1981. During his career, Dr Tanaka has been Director of Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism at National Children’s Medical Research Center (1992-2000), Chief of Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism at the National Children’s Hospital (2000-2002) and Director of Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism (2002-2004) and Director of Department of Clinical Laboratory Medicine (2004-2007) at the National Center for Child Health and Development, Tokyo.
Dr Tanaka’s research interests include clinical research in growth disorders and abnormal sexual development. He has published over 300 papers on growth disorders, abnormal sexual development and human auxology. He is an Editor of Hormone Research Paediatrics, and an Associate Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Pediatric Endocrinology (Official Journal of The Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology) and Pediatric Endocrinology Reviews.
Since 2007, Dr Tanaka has been Director of Tanaka Growth Clinic. He is a council member of the Japanese Society for Paediatric Endocrinology, a chairperson of the board of directors of the Japanese Society for Human Auxology and a governor of the Foundation for Growth Science in Japan.
