The subjects considered appropriate for publication in the journal include any aspect of research on physical , chemical, geological, or biological systems, as well as management of those systems, at the interface between the land and the sea. The interface is broadly defined to include areas within estuaries, lagoons, wetlands, tidal rivers, watersheds that include estuaries, and near-shore coastal waters. Manuscripts will be judged on the basis of their contribution of original data, ideas and interpretation. Only material intended for publication in ESTUARIES and COASTS will be considered. Manuscripts must be written in English but may have an abstract in an alternate language when appropriate. Manuscripts will be reviewed by a member of the Editorial Board and by at least two anonymous referees. Special issues which focus on a specific topic within estuarine and coastal science are published periodically. Information on how to propose a special issue can be obtained here. Instructions to Authors   AUTHORS Submit your manuscript to Dr. Stephen Threlkeld, Managing Editor, ESTUARIES and COASTS, 328 Shoemaker, Department of Biology, University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677, or via e-mail to stt@estuariesandcoasts.olemiss.edu. Upon receipt of your manuscript, you will be sent an e-mail acknowledging its receipt and assigning the manuscript a tracking number, and giving you a username and password for taking various actions related to your manuscript. To take action on a manuscript being considered or prepared for publication in ESTUARIES and COASTS, enter the manuscript tracking number (ms followed by four digits followed by two letters; e.g., ms0000ab) here and select from the options below.
