Aims & Scope
2005 Impact Factor: 2.125 Ranking: 11/77 (Polymer Science) ?Thomson Scientific, Journal Citation Reports 2006
Polymer Reviews publishes topical issues, consisting of invited high quality reviews on topics of current interest in all areas of macromolecular science and engineering. Areas of particular interest are biomedical applications, organic electronics and photonics, nanostructures, micro- and nano-fabrication, biological molecules (DNA, proteins, carbohydrates), polymers for renewable energy and the environment, and polymers at the interfaces with other disciplines. Articles may either provide a complete, broad review of a topic, or may concentrate on the author's own work, placing that work in the context of the broader field.
Please note that Polymer Reviews only publishes invited articles. Unsolicited articles will not be accepted, and will be returned to the author without review.

Aims and Scope
Polymer Reviews publishes topical issues, consisting of invited high quality reviews on topics of current interest in all areas of macromolecular science and engineering. Areas of particular interest are biomedical applications, organic electronics and photonics, nanostructures, micro- and nano-fabrication, biological molecules (DNA, proteins, carbohydrates), polymers for renewable energy and the environment, and polymers at the interfaces with other disciplines. Articles may either provide a complete, broad review of a topic, or may concentrate on the author's own work, placing that work in the context of the broader field.
The instructions that follow are for authors of invited reviews only. Contributed articles are not accepted. If you would like to suggest a topic for a future issue, please contact the Editor-in-Chief at the address given below.
Submission of Manuscripts. Articles should be submitted electronically to polyreviews@bellsouth.net. If electronic submission is not possible, the manuscript may be submitted on disk (3.5 in. or CD-ROM) to the Editor-in-Chief: Elliot P. Douglas, Department of Materials Science & Engineering, University of Florida, Box 116400, Gainesville, FL 32611.
The manuscript should be prepared using MS Word or WordPerfect. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.
For initial manuscript submission, submit a single file with tables and figures on separate pages following the text. For final submission of the accepted manuscript, submit the figures as separate files, as indicated below. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text. Six keywords should be provided.
References. Please cite references in the text by number only as a superscript. At the end of the article, list the references in the order they appear in the text. Footnotes should be included in the list of references. Examples:
Journal: Barclay, G. G.; Ober, C. K.; Papathomas, K. I.; Wang, D. W. "Liquid crystalline epoxy thermosets based on dihydroxymethylstilbene - Synthesis and characterization", J. Polym. Sci. Pol. Chem. 1992, 30, 1831-1843. Book: de Gennes, P. G.; Prost, J. The Physics of Liquid Crystals; Oxford University Press: Oxford, 1993. Book section: Rossert, J.; de Crombrugghe, B. "Type I collagen: Structure, synthesis, regulation", In Principles of Bone Biology, 2nd Edition; Bilezikian, J. P.; Raisz, L. G.; Rodan, G. A., Eds.; Academic Press: New York, 2002; pp 189-210.
Figures. Figures (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be submitted as separate digital files for the final accepted version of the manuscript. Digital files should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- Sized to fit on journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
- Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files
Figure captions should be provided on a separate page as part of the text. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first page with color is $900.00. The next three pages with color are $450.00 each. A custom quote will be provided for color art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality color prints should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable.
Tables. Tables that consist of text only may be included on separate pages as part of the text file. Any images that are to be included as part of a table (for example, chemical structures) should be submitted as separate files, following the guidelines for figures above, with a clear indication in the table as to where the figure should be inserted. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included.
Proofs. Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis' EProof system. They must be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt.
Offprints/Reprints. Each corresponding author will receive a PDF file of the final version of their article.
