Instructions to Authors
Latin American Politics and Society publishes original research dealing with contemporary Latin American politics, economics, sociology, and U.S.-Latin American relations. The journal also considers essays addressing political, social and economic issues in Latin American studies. Manuscripts must be in English and must not be under current consideration by any other publication.


Manuscripts may be submitted via email (preferred) or in hard copy with disk. Via email, please send as an attachment, preferably in Microsoft Word or compatible format. In hard copy, please send two copies, double-spaced, on one side only of standard size (8 1/2" x 11") paper, accompanied by a 3" x 5" disk in MS-DOS format. Please include the author's name, mailing address, phone, fax, and email, on a separate page; and an abstract of the paper, up to 150 words. All text, notes, and references should be double-spaced and in the same size type. Maximum total length is 50 pages. References should follow the Chicago Manual author-date citation style (see 14th edition, chapter 16). All submissions considered for publication are sent to at least three outside reviewers to determine acceptability and are subject to revision before final acceptance.
