About the journal
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions is an international journal covering the broad field of cardiovascular diseases. Subject material includes basic and clinical information that is derived from or related to invasive and interventional coronary or peripheral vascular techniques. The journal focuses on material that will be of immediate practical value to physicians providing patient care in the clinical laboratory setting. To accomplish this, the journal publishes Preliminary Reports and Work In Progress articles that complement the traditional Original Studies, Case Reports, and Comprehensive Reviews. Perspective and insight concerning controversial subjects and evolving technologies are provided regularly through Editorial Commentaries furnished by members of the Editorial Board and other experts. Articles are subject to double-blind peer review and complete editorial evaluation prior to any decision regarding acceptability.
Instructions to Authors
1. Manuscripts and all editorial correspondence should be sent to Christopher J. White, M.D., F.A.C.C., Chairman, Department of Cardiology, Ochsner Clinic Foundation, 1514 Jefferson Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70121-2483, Telephone 504-842-6380, Fax 504-842-6382, E-mail: ccieditor@ochsner.org. Submit an original and two copies of all elements, arranged in the following order: title page, abstract, text, references, legends, tables, and illustrations.
2. SPECIAL NOTICE: To enable blind manuscript review, authors' names and the origin of the work should appear on the title page only.
3. All copies must be double spaced and have at least one inch margins, including the abstract, text, references, and legends. Number all pages in sequence, beginning with the title page.
4. TITLE PAGE. This should contain the complete title of the manuscript; the names, affiliations, and titles of authors; the institution at which the work was performed; three to six indexing words that do not appear in the title and as used in Index Medicus; and an address for all correspondence. Also include a short title, not more than 40 characters, to be used as a running head.
5. AUTHORSHIP COVER LETTER. Each author must have contributed significantly to the submitted work. If there are more than 4 authors, the contribution of each must be substantiated in the cover letter. The Editors consider authorship to include all of the following: 1) conception and design or analysis and interpretation of data, or both; 2) drafting of the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and 3) final approval of the manuscript submitted. Participation solely in the collection of data does not justify authorship but may be appropriately acknowledged in the Acknowledgment section.
6. ABSTRACT. Provide a structured abstract of no more than 250 words, presenting essential data in five paragraphs introduced by separate headings in the following order: Objectives, Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions. Use complete sentences. All data in the abstract must also appear in the manuscript text or tables. For general information on preparing structured abstracts, see Haynes RB, Mulrow CD, Huth EJ, Altman DG, Gardner MJ. More informative abstracts revisited. Ann Intern Med 1990;113:69¨C76. A non-structured abstract is appropriate for review articles and case reports.
7. TEXT. Original manuscripts should follow the usual ``Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions'' format. If the work includes data derived from human subjects, a statement that informed, written consent was obtained is mandatory. Use subheadings and paragraph titles whenever possible. Abbreviate measurements (cm, ml) according to Style Manual for Biological Journals, American Institute for Biological Sciences, 3900 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. Place acknowledgments as the last element of the text, before references.
8. REFERENCES.
Wiley's Journal Styles Are Now in EndNote EndNote is a software product that we recommend to our journal authors to help simplify and streamline the research process. Using EndNote's bibliographic management tools, you can search bibliographic databases, build and organize your reference collection, and then instantly output your bibliography in any Wiley journal style. Download Reference Style for this Journal: If you already use EndNote, you can download the reference style for this journal. How to Order: To learn more about EndNote, or to purchase your own copy, click here. Technical Support: If you need assistance using EndNote, contact endnote@isiresearchsoft.com, or visit www.endnote.com/support.
In the text, references should be cited consecutively as numerals in parentheses. In the final listing, they should be in numerical order, should include all authors' names, and should conform to Index Medicus style. For example:

Book:

9. LEGENDS. A descriptive legend completes an illustration and permits it to be useful without reference to the text. A legend must accompany each illustration and must define any abbreviations used therein. Legends must be typed double spaced on a separate list at the end of the manuscript, followed by tables.
10. TABLES. Tables must be self-explanatory and must not duplicate the text. Each must have a title and be numbered in order of appearance with Roman numerals, one table on each page placed at end of manuscript.
11. ILLUSTRATIONS. Three sets of glossy photographs are necessary. Black and white (glossy) 5" x 7" or 8" x 10" are preferred. Do not submit original recordings, graphs, radiographic plates, or artwork. They will be requested at a later date if needed for publication. All lettering must meet professional standards (and must be legible after reduction in size); typewritten or hand lettering is unacceptable. All color figures will be reproduced in full color in the online edition of the journal at no cost to authors. Authors are requested to pay the cost of reproducing color figures in print (upon acceptance of the manuscript, the publisher will provide price quotes). Authors are encouraged to submit color illustrations that highlight the text and convey essential scientific information. For best reproduction, bright, clear colors should be used. Dark colors against a dark background do not reproduce well; please place your color images against a white background wherever possible. All illustrations must be numbered in order of appearance with arabic numerals. Identify each illustration on the back by affixing a gummed label on which is listed the number of the illustration, title of manuscript, and an arrow indicating the top.
12. DISCLOSURE STATEMENT. All authors must disclose any affiliations that they consider to be relevant and important with any organization that to any author's knowledge has a direct interest, particularly a financial interest, in the subject matter or materials discussed. Such affiliations include, but are not limited to, employment by an industrial concern, ownership of stock, membership on a standing advisory counsel or committee, being on the board of directors, or being publicly associated with a company or its products. Other areas of real or perceived conflict of interest would include receiving honoraria or consulting fees or receiving grants or funds from such corporations or individuals representing such corporations.
13. All manuscripts submitted to Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions must be submitted solely to this journal, may not have been published in any part or form in another publication of any type, professional or lay, and become the property of the publisher. The publisher reserves copyright, and no published material may be reproduced or published elsewhere without the written permission of the publisher and the author. The journal will not be responsible for the loss of manuscripts at any time. All statements in, or omissions from, published manuscripts are the responsibility of the authors, who will assist the editors by reviewing proofs before publication.
Disk Submission Instructions
Please send your manuscript of disk as well as hard copy. The hard copy must match the disk.
The publisher requires that the manuscripts (text, tables, and, if possible, illustrations) must be submitted on a disk. Given the near-universal use of computer word-processing for manuscript preparation, we anticipate that providing a disk will be convenient for you, and it carries the added advantages of maintaining the integrity of your keystrokes and expediting typesetting. Please return the disk submission slip below with your manuscript and labeled disk(s).
Guidelines for Electronic Submission
Text Storage medium. 3-1/2" high-density disk in IBM MS-DOS, Windows, or Macintosh format.
Software and format. Microsoft Word 6.0 is preferred, although manuscripts prepared with any other microcomputer word processor are acceptable. Refrain from complex formatting; the Publisher will style your manuscript according to the Journal design specifications. Do not use desktop publishing software such as Aldus PageMaker or Quark XPress. If you prepared your manuscript with one of these programs, export the text to a word processing format. Please make sure your word processing program's "fast save" feature is turned off. Please do not deliver files that contain hidden text: for example, do not use your word processor's automated features to create footnotes or reference lists.
File names. Submit the text and tables of each manuscript as a single file. Name each file with your last name (up to eight letters). Text files should be given the three-letter extension that identifies the file format. Macintosh users should maintain the MS-DOS "eight dot three" file-naming convention.
Labels. Label all disks with your name, the file name, and the word processing program and version used.
Illustrations All print reproduction requires files for full color images to be in a CMYK color space. If possible, ICC or ColorSync profiles of your output device should accompany all digital image submissions.
Storage medium. Submit as separate files from text files, on separate disks or cartridges. If feasible, full color files should be submitted on separate disks from other image files. 3-1/2" high-density disks, CD, Iomega Zip, and 5 1/4" 44- or 88-MB SyQuest cartridges can be submitted. At authors' request, cartridges and disks will be returned after publication.
Software and format. All illustration files should be in TIFF or EPS (with preview) formats. Do not submit native application formats.
Resolution. Journal quality reproduction will require greyscale and color files at resolutions yielding approximately 300 ppi. Bitmapped line art should be submitted at resolutions yielding 600-1200 ppi. These resolutions refer to the output size of the file; if you anticipate that your images will be enlarged or reduced, resolutions should be adjusted accordingly.
File names. Illustration files should be given the 2- or 3-letter extension that identifies the file format used (i.e., .tif, .eps).
Labels. Label all disks and cartridges with your name, the file names, formats, and compression schemes (if any) used. Hard copy output must accompany all files.
