The journal is devoted to natural rubber and its related sciences, publishing articles from around the world, presenting results of major research from all rubber sciences. Readers are primarily rubber scientists in academia and governmental institutions as well as people within the rubber industry fraternity. It was first published as the Journal of the Rubber Research Institute of Malaya in 1929 and subsequently known as the Journal of Natural Rubber Research in 1986. Each volume of the JRR constitutes four issues published quarterly in March, June, September and December. The JRR is abstracted and indexed in the Science Citation index Expanded, Materials Science Citation Index, Journal Citation Reports / Science Edition, Scopus (Elsevier), Polymer Library (Smithers Rapra), CAB Abstracts and OVID.
