About this journal
Aims and Scope
Milan Journal of Mathematics (MJM) publishes high quality articles from all areas of Mathematics and the Mathematical Sciences. The authors are invited to submit "articles with background", presenting a problem of current research with its history and its developments, the current state and possible future directions. The presentation should render the article of interest to a wider audience than just specialists.
Many of the articles will be "invited contributions" from speakers in the "Seminario Matematico e Fisico di Milano". However, also other authors are welcome to submit articles which are in line with the "Aims and Scope" of the journal.

AuthorshipAuthorship
Submission of a manuscript implies
that the work described has not been published before
that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere
that its publication has been approved by all coauthors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out
that, if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors agree to automatically transfer the copyright to the publisher; and
that the manuscript will not be published elsewhere in any language without the consent of the copyright holder.
The Editorial ProcessThe Editorial Process
To speed up publication, and to ensure a unified layout throughout the journal, we recommend the use of LaTeX.
Submission of the ManuscriptSubmission of the Manuscript
The LaTeX source file(s) together with a formatted version of your article should be submitted electronically to the Editorial Office, either via e-mail attachment( s) or by sending disks with regular mail. Besides, three paper copies of each manuscript should be sent with regular mail to the Editorial Office.Manuscripts typed in LaTeX-format should be sent to:Bernhard Ruf (Managing Editor)Milan Journal of MathematicsUniversità degli Studi di MilanoDipartimento di MatematicaVia Saldini 50IT-20133 MilanoItalye-mail: ruf@mat.unimi.it

Class File
To simplify the transformation process between your documents and the final layout, we provide the LaTeX class filebirkjour.cls
ready for use with the newer LaTeX versions (LaTeX2e). It can be downloaded from the www page at the link below.
Then, the first line in your document should be\documentclass{birkjour}
The class file mainly sets the fonts, margins and spacing. It is based on the standard AMSart class. Hence all of the usual LaTeX and AMS-LaTeX commands can be used inside your document.
A small sample file containing a short documentation and being useful as template file can also be downloaded via the above www page.
