Instructions to Authors
| Submission |
A submission to journal Materials Science must be the original work of the author(s) and must not published elsewhere or under consideration for another publication in its submitted or a substantially similar form in any language. All contributions will be refereed. The editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts and to require revisions of contributions. Accepted for publication manuscripts should be corrected by the author taking into account experts remarks, otherwise motivated author's refusal to correct his manuscript should be presented. |
| Manuscripts |
In order to achieve rapid publication, the texts will be printed directly from the author's typescripts. The authors are kindly requested to observe the following instructions in manuscripts preparation. Some flexibility of presentation will be allowed but authors are urged to arrange the subject matter clearly under such headings as Introduction, Experimental details, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, References, etc. Each paper should have an abstract (approximately 2000 characters). In addition the author is requested to submit Keywords of the paper (5 - 10 words). Research papers up to 8000 words will be considered - the length of a paper text is not limited but it should not exceed 6 - 8 pages including figures, references and abstract. Not less than 75-80% the last page should be filled. The final text should be submitted on a CD (in addition to a hard copy with original figures). The files should be saved in the native format of the word processing program used (preferably Microsoft Word). The disk format, word processor file format, title and authors of the article should be clearly indicated on the disk. |
| Units |
SI units must be used in the text, tables and graphs. |
| Illustrations |
Figures, tables and formulas should be arranged in such a way that they would fit into one (84 mm width) or two columns. Graphs should be prepared by computer (word processor Microsoft Word or compatible), otherwise the space for figures in the manuscript should be reserved and high quality drawings drawn in black India ink should be submitted. One line spacing should separate the figures and tables from the text. |
| Formulae |
All mathematical expressions should be computer typed. Numbers that identify mathematical expressions should be enclosed in parentheses. Equations that might extend beyond the width of one column (84 mm) should be fitted into two columns or should be rephrased to go on two or more lines within the column width. One line spacing should separate mathematical expressions from the text. |
| Page numbers |
Only pencil marks of page numbers should be used. |
| Software specifications |
Manuscript should be typed with single spacing using Microsoft Word word processor (preferably). Times New Roman font should be used. The text should be typed in two columns on A4 format sheets; spacing between columns should be 6 mm. The following margins should be ensured:
- top - 20 mm,
- bottom - 25 mm,
- left - 18 mm,
- right - 18 mm.
The title of an article should be printed in 14 pt (Bold), author's name - 12 pt (Bold), title of the institution - 10 pt (Italic), headings of the chapters - 11pt (Bold), the body text and abstract - 10 pt, indexes - 8 pt, text of the tables - 9 pt, formulae in the text - 10 pt, indexes - 6 pt, subindexes - 5 pt (all symbols - Italic, vectors - Bold, numbers - Normal). Italic characters should be used for symbols from the figures and graphs mentioned in the text. |
| References |
References should be numbered consecutively (numerals in square brackets) through the text and collected together in a reference list at the end of the paper. |
| Further details |
On a separate sheet, with the copy on CD, the following data about the authors should be presented: name, family name, affiliation, position, mailing address, telephone (office and home), fax, E-mail.
