About the journal

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems

Mathematical and computer modelling is being used in an increasing number of disciplines. Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems reflects this movement and its readership embraces mathematicians and computer scientists who are involved with applications of mathematical and computer modelling.

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems - Information for Authors

Instructions for Authors :

In order to avoid confusion and superfluous correspondence, authors are kindly requested to regard the following when preparing their manuscript:

Modelling of systems and systems behavior is of importance in many engineering applications and in simulation. Contrary to other periodicals, MCMDS concentrates on modelling. Computer simulation is restricted to the field of modelling and the consequences of modelling, but it does not include all simulation languages or the general design of multi-purpose simulation programs independent on modelling aspects.

Papers dealing with applications are accepted only when the purpose of the model, the assumptions (explicit or implicit) made in its development and the precise process of model validation are discussed carefully. Authors are requested to concentrate on those aspects which are of interest to a large community of engineers and scientists and to organize the paper so that it is stimulating and readable for engineers and scientists working in a wide range of application areas.

The journal will accept only papers submitted in English. Manuscripts should meet high academic standards. Contributors need to remember that they are writing for an international audience. National colloquialisms and idiomatic use of language should be avoided and gender neutral language used. It may be useful for non-English speakers to have a native English speaker read through the article before submission.

The title page should carry the title, the authors' names and affiliations and current adresses. Supplying telephone and fax numbers as well as any e-mail address would be very useful. The author to whom correspondence should be addressed must be clearly indicated. In the case of a long title, an abbreviated version of no more than 40 characters (including spaces) should be supplied by the author for running heads.

Papers must contain a summary of about 100 words briefly summarizing the essential contents.

Keywords should be provided. Please use either the American Mathematical Society (AMS) or INSPEC classifications.

Acknowledgements should appear on a separate sheet at the end of the written section, before the references.

References
All references should be numbered and listed in alphabetical order at the end of the paper and follow the style given below:

References should be quoted in the text by numbers and enclosed in brackets, for example [2], [3,4]

Tables, figures and halftones

Tables must be presented on separate sheets. Line drawings (graphs) should be made with black India ink and presented on white drawing paper of good quality. A computer printout should be of comparable quality.

Halftone illustrations should be presented as mounted or unmounted glossy prints. Markings should be clear and made on the photographs. Graphs, diagrams, and photographs should be clear enough to permit reduction to a size of 12 x 18 cm without affecting legibility.

Tables and figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals. Legends to figures should be given on a separate sheet. The approximate position of figures and tables should be clearly indicated in the text. The costs of coloured illustrations and halftones must be met in full by the author(s). Prepayment is required and estimates can be obtained at the time of submission of the manuscript for review.

Permissions
It is the responsibility of the author to obtain written permission for a quotation from unpublished material, or for all quotations in excess of 250 words in one extract or 500 words in total from any work still in copyright, and for the reprinting of illustrations or tables from unpublished or copyright material.

Submission of a paper to Mathematical Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems implies that it has not been published before and that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere.

Submission of manuscripts :

Papers may be submitted to any of the Associate Editors or, preferably, to the Editor-in-Chief. Publication in original or revised form depends upon the result of the reviewing procedure. The journal strives for flexibility in the type and contents of papers. Therefore, there are no strict rules concerning the length or type of presentation. The length must however be appropriate to the contents and nature of the paper and the presentation should place due emphasis on questions of modelling and modelling goals, with attention given to those aspects of the work which are likely to be of interest to a broad scientific and engineering community. Papers should be self-contained and should not depend excessively on previously published work.

Three copies of the manuscript (including halftones and illustrations) should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief:
